    Just getting settled…

     

     

    8:00am
     

    Bette wakes up to the smell of coffee… she looks over and Tina is still out cold… and Tessa is also still sleeping… Bette then quietly gets out of bed and grabs her robe and walks into the kitchen… Linda was sitting there reading the newspaper and having breakfast…
     
    Bette:  Good morning mom… that coffee smells good… and I need about a pot of it to get this day started…
     
    Linda:  I knew you would… I made a big pot… here sit down and I’ll get it for you…
     
    Bette:  I got it… sit…
     
    Linda:  I heard Tessa most of the night…
     
    Bette:  She didn’t want to sleep… and she didn’t want to eat… so she cried…
     
    Linda:  How is Tina…
     
    Bette:  Well she was upset…
     
    Linda:  I bet… well maybe today we keep her up… don’t let her take that extra nap late in the afternoon… maybe change her bath time… that will wake her up for a while… lotion her down…
     
    Bette:  Good idea… in fact its a great idea… we have been trying to think of things to do…

     

    Linda:  Its amazing 3 adults trying to out smart a baby…
     
    Bette:  A baby that’s only a week old… and she already has us all wrapped around her little finger…
     
    Linda:  But today she will be out smarted… I also think the swing will work… that might keep her awake… or at least looking around…
     
    Bette:  Let’s try everything you can think of… I do like the idea of keeping her awake late in the afternoon… when we bathe her in the afternoon she usually sleeps for 5 hours after that… I’m game to bathe her at midnight…
     
    Linda:  Well I think a little earlier… we could move the time up each day until she has her days and nights correct…
     
    Tina walks in carrying the baby…
     
    Bette:  Oh good morning… sorry I didn’t hear her…
     
    Tina:  Well I  did loud and clear… and she was soaked… she needs a bath…
     
    Linda:  Well we were talking… and thinking of changing her bath time… but we could still bathe her twice today…
     
    Tina sits down and starts nursing the baby…
     
    Tina:  What do you mean twice…
     
    Linda:  Well she has her days and nights mixed up… up all night and sleeps all day… so if we bathe her at night..
     
    Tina:  I like that… we could actually get 4 or 5 hours of sleep… we will do that tonight… but she needs one this morning too…
     
    Bette:  How about we just sponge her off till later
     
    Linda shakes her head yes…
     
    Bette:  Good…  Tee would you like a cup of coffee or tea…
     
    Tina:  Tea… make it decaf… I want a nap later too…

    1. Maggie got to stay cause she’s way more grown up than Alice. Glad you could save the chapter. Working nights is just as exhausting and probably less satisfying than being up with the baby. Too bad you don’t have Linda to chip in.

    5. I am so glad that you were able to post. We would have missed a wonderful chapter if it was lost forever. Bette and Tina are always so cute. I would have been first in the line to see Tina feed Tessa.

    10. Don’t cry, My friend, we would still wait for you to write it again. Alice is just to much. Grandmother can be smart.She did it in a way that they through that it was their ideal. Dont work to hard and thanks for posting.

    11. I am SOOOOOO happy you where able to save it. B&T had better be more careful because it could have been Maggie and Linda who walked in on them when they where on the couch. It may have been a bit much for Maggie to handle. PPS :o).
