Maggie: you too…
Bette: yep… me too… come on we will call your mom and tell her you’ll be here so she doesn’t worry and she doesn’t have to rush home…
Maggie calls Janice… and gets her answering machine again and she leaves another message…
Bette walks from her bedroom and hands Maggie a pair of shorts and a Tee shirt… underpants and a few pads…
Bette: here go and change… and if you want you can take a shower… it may make you feel better…
Maggie: I think I will… thanks…
Maggie goes and showers and changes and so does Bette…
30 minutes later Bette was in the kitchen making hot tea for the both of them…
Maggie comes out… and they both sit on the couch… Bette hands her a cup of tea…
Maggie: you were right… I feel a lot better…
Bette: Good… now we can both just relax…
The phone rings…
Bette answers..
Janice: hey Bette…
Bette: hi Janice… I see you got the message…
Janice: yes I did… How is she feeling…
Bette: better… I promise to take very good care of her… you just take your time…
Janice: thanks… and of all nights… we are getting swamped tonight… so even if I wanted to leave early I can’t… but believe me if you weren’t home… well I would be…
Bette: like I said I am not going anywhere… would you like to talk to your daughter…
Maggie: Hi mom… yep Bette gave me shorts and a shirt… and I even took a shower… yes mom… I will do my homework… in a little while… we are having tea… (Smiling up at Bette)
Bette: so do you have a lot of homework…
Maggie: just the norm it’s the end of the year… so its just reviewing… for the tests all week… and then school’s out for the summer…
Bette: well we can help you later… right now I think we should take a nap…
Maggie leaned into Bette and they both fell asleep on the couch…
5:45…
Tina pulled into the driveway… walking into the house… just turning and locking the front door…
Tina: hey babe… I’m home… sorry I couldn’t get an appointment with Doctor Hon… (She just stopped looking at Bette and Maggie on the couch… both slowly opening their eyes…)

Baby…Baby……I am sure that will b their next chapter in their life….
Periods suck no matter when they come. Plus I tend to have weeklong PMS and any other time I’m just bitchy. Bette will definitely be the softy mom and Tina the enforcer. They’re both great mother/sister figures for Maggie.

That was so nice of Bette to be there for Maggie…I know Maggie was glad she was at home when it happened…I wasn’t so lucky…I was 12 at a wedding…I wish Bette had been there to make me tea.
That was so sweet, Bette and Tina both will make wonderful Mothers. Maggie will remember the kindness from them for a long long time. If we dont get the wedding before you leave,we will forgive you. You are a Mother, work and take care of a home and try to make us happy, that is a heavy load for one person. thanks for posting.

It’s hard enough to get a doctor to make house calls at all, two nights in a row was pushing it anyway. I wonder how you’d code that kind of thing for insurance. And skycaptain, out of all the things that Bette could make me, I have to say tea is rather low on the list. How long to the wedding now? Is Maggie the flower girl?

That was sooooo sweet and cute. Since they are neighbors and their families have gotten so close, Janice may want to consider giving B&T a spare key to their house just in case something like this happens again or they have an emergency.
