“Another nice one, you have good taste.” She murmured into Tina’s ear as she placed the bottle back on the bench and moved her right hand to Tina’s hip, sliding under the loose shirt to hook into the waistband of her jeans, her thumbs making small circles on the bare flesh. Tina closed her eyes and released the breath she was holding. Play it cool dammit!
“Thanks… I’ll… get some glasses.” She stepped out of the embrace and towards the cabinet she had seen Bette retrieve the wine glasses from last week. Trying to take deep breaths to regulate her heart beat and hoping her blush was not too obvious.
“Ok, I’m just going to get changed, I’ll see you outside.” Bette smiled warmly at the blonde and walked out of the kitchen. Tina shook her head and poured two glasses of wine and took them outside, along with the bottle. She had finished more than half of her glass when Bette walked out to join them. One look at the brunette had the blonde gulping down the second half of her glass, trying to avert her eyes from the sight of Bette in a bikini as she dove into the water to join Alice.
“Thank god, Porter, now will you get the rest of those lame-asses in here too?”
“I find flattery always helps me win people over Al” Bette teased before turning to wave Dana, Shane and Tina in. Shane resolutely lit a cigarette and stayed in her spot. Dana shrugged off her shirt and slid in. Now or never, thought Tina, standing to remove her shirt and jeans before diving into the cool water. She surfaced and found herself facing Bette, who was appreciatively roaming her eyes over the blonde’s body as she grinned, then winked at Tina.
Play it cool Tina. She kept repeating the mantra to herself. Hoping it would somehow help her to remember to follow her own advice.
She reached for one of the inflated pool beds by the edge of the pool and dragged it into the water, wading to the shallow end to manoeuvre herself on top, lying on her stomach as she paddled back over the deeper waters; all the while trying to ignore the sight of Bette’s wet body moving smoothly through the gentle waves in the pool.

Sooo that’s what Bette was hiding. Poor Tina has got it bad. She’s going to have to admit it to herself somtime soon…Eric is just not cutting it for her. Now, it looks like Bette’s interested otherwise she wouldn’t have “engulfed” Tina like that. Nice update TP…need another one soon!
Great chapter. I can honestly say that I didnot see that coming. I think that Bette could use a little Tina lovin’ right about now.

Powerful chapter…Tina’s ability to relax into Bette’s advances communicates volumes – even if she isn’t ready to admit it to herself. Will either Bette or Tina be brave enough to ask the other for a meeting separate from the rest of the family? I also wasn’t expecting Bette’s father to have died – it’s shocking that she could keep that from her family for a whole week. Can’t wait till your next post!

I think the chapter showed another side of Bette. Maybe a little private not wanting to share emotions of love, death, etc. Or at least very hard for her. I think Tina is about to change all of that. pps

Another powerful chapter with such range of emotion. I’m so captivated by your story and am liking the slow burn you have simmering between Bette and Tina.
Wow, I’ve been speed reading through the updates. Not sure how good a job tina is doing playing it cool with Bette. Poor Eric has no clue whats about to happen. That was a heavy load Bette was keeping to herself. I think her and Tina need some alone time,and then Tina can console her.
Bette needed to release the pain and guilt and the best people to listen to her are her friends. I have a feeling that Tina would love to wrap her arms around Bette and I am sure that Bette would love for that to happen.
Bette and Tina’s continued draw to one another is so sexy. I feel terrible for Bette losing her Dad. With a great family like the girls I have faith she will find the love to pull her through.
Hopefully they will have some private time and Tina can hold Bette for a little while. They need the time even if nothing is said yet. Really enjoying this story. PPS
“His death left her lost, it left her confused, but most of all, and causing the most guilt, it left her free. She hated herself for feeling relief.” WOW! Powerful words that describe emotions that not everyone can relate to after the loss of a parent. Everybody grieves in their own way. You can’t blame Bette for feeling a sense of relief. A child never wants to dissappoint. I hope she’ll lean on her friends for support. PS.
here comes the beginning of tina’s confusion espeically if being in bette’s presence so close makes her relax… so being with eric will push her over the edge! :)PPS
Your description of Bette’s feelings surrounding her father’s death was right on point.Sometimes when a loved one is suffering you might wish for them to have some relief. Then, if they pass away, sometimes there is a feeling of guilt. PPS.
YEAH, I UNDERSTAND right where Bette’s at in her love/hate of her daddy. also understand why Tina is wowed by that bode!!!! pps
