    Bangladesh. Chapter One: Alex Elliots.

Alex had completed her song, and the spectators were giving a more than adequate ovation. Bills of all values were being tossed into Alex’s guitar case as she began to retune her guitar. Shane grinned, brushing past an elderly couple to make her way towards the musician. She couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows at the amount of money within the carrying case: there were easily three layers of bills coating the bottom.

                “You’re Shane, right?”

Shane looked up and her blue eyes met that of Alex’s abalone ones. “Yeah,” she said amiably, offering her hand for a handshake. “It’s good to see you again.”

“Thanks, you too,” Alex replied, shaking her hand before stooping to gather the money out of her case. “You’ll have to chill for a sec…”

“Umm, alright.” Before Shane realized what she was doing, she found herself staring at Alex’s ass. Take it slow, she told herself, snickering. “So, uh, you weren’t kidding about the guitar case overflowing with money, were you?”

“Nah. People will pay an arm and leg for original material nowadays. You and I should grab something to eat after this, though, so I can compensate you for all your trouble.”

“Oh no, it’s fine,” Shane retorted, immediately biting her tongue. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? What if she was asking you on a date, smart-ass? “…Unless you feel that inclined.”

Alex laughed, replacing her guitar into her then empty case and fastening it shut. “Well, it’s not like I’m short on cash.” Alex branded her money in a fan with both hands, with five one-hundred dollar bills in the center.

“Fuck,” was all Shane could say.

“Go on, take one. Use it for gas or something.” Obediently Shane plucked a Benjamin from Alex’s hand, but waited to see if she would ask for it back. “It’s okay! You have it!” Shane simpered, tucking the one hundred into her pocket.

“Here, let me take your stuff.” Shane bent over and grabbed Alex’s luggage, beginning to roll it in the direction of her car.

Alex was soon at her heels, her guitar case in hand. “So, did you like what you heard?” she asked in a friendly voice, with an underlying complacent tone.
