    Bangladesh. Chapter One: Alex Elliots.

Shane McCutcheon was curled up in the passenger side of her truck; her black hair swooped over her eyes, and snoring lightly when her phone began to vibrate. Just let it ring, she thought to herself, shifting into a more comfortable position. It’s just some girl wondering why you haven’t called her back yet…

A tone emitted from her cell phone, apprising her that she had a new voicemail. Shane snorted, propped her head against the window, and tried to fall asleep once more. But it only took a scarce few minutes for the phone to begin vibrating again.

Lethargically Shane sat up, stretching and yawning. She fumbled around her dashboard until her phone was in her hands, and after sitting herself in the driver’s seat, flipped open her phone. “Hello?” she croaked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

“Shane? It’s Dana…listen, can you do me a favor?”

“I’ll see what I can do,” she replied through a yawn. “What do you need?”

“My best friend—Alexandra Elliots— is flying in today, and I was wondering if you could pick her up from the airport.”

“Alex Elliots? Why does that name sound familiar?”

“Well, you two were introduced right before she took off for San Diego. Remember —about four months ago?”

“Oh yeah,” she replied, suddenly awake. “When does her flight get in?”

“Twenty minutes, I think. Don’t worry about being on time. I’d get her myself, but I have a contract signing.”

“Okay, good. Where should I drop her off?”

“She’ll tell you. Here’s her number: its 555-3087.”

“555,” Shane repeated slowly, scribbling the number on the inside of her wrist. “3087?”

“Yeah, and thank you SO much for doing this for me, Shane; I owe you. Okay? Talk to you later.”

“Alright, bye.” Shane closed the phone, and couldn’t stop smiling. Alex Elliots…. A mental picture of a tall, thin woman with flowing blonde hair flashed in her mind. She was the sexiest person Shane had ever met: and she knew A LOT of people. The smile still unwavering, Shane started up the car and got on the freeway. With any luck, I’ll get to screw her tonight.
