Carmen: babe have you heard from shay?

Shane: I called him, he was going to the movies with rosa and juan jr.

Carmen: ok…what do you want to drink babe?

Shane: I don’t care (mindlessly flipping channels)

Carmen finishes dinner and calls shane to the table. They flirt and talk about what else they can do in the nursery as they eat there dinner.

Carmen: babe, I gotta show you something

Shane: ok..

Carmen disappears into their bedroom and comes back with ultrasound photos. Shane looks at the photos and tears up.  Carmen holds shanes hand and kisses her softly.

Carmen: are you ok?

Shane: yea, its just this is amazing…..i didn’t know I could love someone that I haven’t met…

Carmen: yea, come on babe, lets go lay down while the baby is calm, so maybe I can get a little bit of sleep.  (leading shane into the bedroom)

Shane: ok..

They climb into bed and Carmen lets out a sigh of relief

Shane: whats wrong?

Carmen: nothing, laying down takes pressure off my back and it feels good

Carmen rolls onto her side and shane gently rubs her back for  a while until she falls asleep.

Shane rubs her stomach and can feel the baby adjust and smiles to her self.

Shane: calm down in there so mommy can sleep. (rubbing carmens stomach. She see’s an outline of a little hand push up. ) oh my god…a hand…my kid has a hand! (she puts her hand where she just saw and feels the tiny hand push up against hers)

Carmen: whats going on? (groggily)

Shane: the baby has a hand!

Carmen: well I hope so

Shane: I saw it!

Carmen: seriously?

Shane moves her hand and pokes gently at carmens stomach trying to get the baby to move. After a few gentle pushes they baby pushes back and Carmen see’s the outline of a little hand.

Carmen: wow…..

Shane: I know right…

Carmen rubs her stomach and kisses shane softly

Shane: I love you

Carmen: I love you too…

They share a long intimate kiss that gets interupted by the phone ringing.

Shane: don’t you dare

Carmen: we have a child, it might be him

Shane: ok

Carmen : hello (scrunching her face) who is this?

Shane sits up and turns the t.v. off

Carmen: gabe!? (hanging up) That man is drunk as shit..

Shane: calm down, we don’t need you all upset..ill call the phone company in the morning and get his number and all blocked calls

Carmen: ok…

They lay back and get the baby to move some more but eventually they fall asleep in each others arms
