    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 39

    Chapter 39

When he doesn’t respond right away, Barb questions him again.

    “David?”

Sitting in his chair David contemplated his choice. He knew that Angelica was certainly capable of putting together a fantastic show for Lyndsay, but he worried more about their relationship and the impact that such a stressful event could potentially have on them. The fact that Angie had also suggested someone else do it, showed him so much about the young gallery owner. He knew art, and if he was right, this could be a very lucrative show and the fact that Angie was willing to let someone else have it or at least be the curator showed him so much about her intentions towards his daughter.

Barb, for her part continued to wonder why her husband had not yet said anything. What did he have in mind for their daughter?

“Well, Angie I want you to know that this suggestion has nothing at all to do with your abilities. I think you and I are on the same page and I do understand your hesitation, even if my daughter does not.”

    “Daddy…that’s not fair…..I think……”

“Lynds, please just hear me out. I know you would like Angie to put together the show, but I think you may find my suggestion acceptable.”

David looks over to Angie and asks “Do you think that Bette would consider coming out of retirement to do Lyndsay’s first show?”

Angie was a little surprised at the suggestion. She hadn’t really considered her Mama B for the role, but it did make sense. She knew that Bette was enthralled with Lyndsay’s talent and there truly was no better curator in the USA, or maybe even the world.

“I’m not sure but I suppose we could ask her, she was quite taken with the painting she saw at my last opening,” came the response from Angie.

Barb for her part was not overly surprised by David’s suggestion. She had known Bette for many years and attended countless shows that she had organized. Wanting to appear supportive of both her husband and daughter she gave her opinion.

“Lynds, you know I think your Dad is right. As much as you want Angie to do the show, it would perhaps be better to have someone else. Bette Porter is as good as there is, and I know from attending many of her shows over the years that she would be a very good choice.”

    1. What! You can’t leave it there. It will have to be in Angie’s gallery. Good excuse for Bette and Tina to visit. How will Barb handle seeing Tina again? Great chapter as always Taz. PPS. K x

    2. Of course Bette will do this..she would do anything for Angie and she believes Lyndsay has talent. Bette is the perfect choice…she has the name that will pull people out and this will help Angie’s gallery and reputation and Lyndsay is really good, so the show will be lucrative enough to give Lyndsay some new found career freedom. Hmmmmm…maybe this freedom will have a positive effect on Angie and Lyndsay’s relationship. Great update Taz.

    3. good work as always Taz, Lyndsay should tell Angie why she is upset so Angie can explain the ins and outs to her, they will still be spending time together. Thank you, Md
