    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 37

Barb was confused and as she looked from the direction of the bathroom over to Angelica she asked “Angie, is there a problem?”

How to answer that question? Angie didn’t want to answer incorrectly, nor did she want to offend Barb in any way. “No, I guess not. I just was expecting to be sleeping in a guest room or something.”

“Why? Don’t you want to stay with Lyndsay?”

“It’s not that Mrs. MacKenzie….I just did not want to make you or Mr MacKenzie uncomfortable.”

“Angie, you and Lyndsay are both adults, and I’m pretty sure that this is not the first time that you and Lyndsay would be sharing the same room…..am I correct?”

Sheepishly Angie responded to Lyndsay’s Mom “No, it would not be the first time.”

“Then I do not see the problem here. If you would like your own room, that can be arranged, we do have a guest room, but personally I think you would be much more comfortable in here. Angelica, David and I do not have an issue with you staying with Lyndsay. I have never seen my daughter this happy, and I’m certain that you have a lot to do with it.”

Angelica simply smiled at this last statement. She was glad that Lyndsay’s parents saw the change in their daughter and that they felt that Angelica was partly responsible. She got up off the bed, walked out to the hallway to retrieve her suitcase. Placing it on the bed, she began to empty the contents.

Barb made her way to the door, but before leaving she stopped, turned back to Angie and said “Just for the record…….I think you made the right decision.” With that she stated that she would be down in the kitchen making a snack, and that she and Lyndsay should come downstairs once they had finished unpacking.

Angie finished unpacking her suitcase and waited for Lyndsay to come back into the room.

“I see you changed your mind.”

Angelica looked up to see Lyndsay leaning against the doorframe of the bathroom entrance.

“Do you have an empty drawer that I can use?”

Walking over to the dresser, Lyndsay opened the middle drawer and motioned to Angie that she could use this one. She then took a seat on the bed as Angie moved her clothes to the drawer. Once she was done, Angie walked over and sat beside her.

    1. Wow, two awkward moments that Angelica navigated nicely through. It is hard for Lyndsay, especially since this is quite new to her. It will take time for her to comes to terms with herself and when she does, she won’t want to hide it. Taz beautifully written!

    2. Angie is so sweet and understanding. Much like the Bette that I’ve read on most of the FFs on this site. This really is one of the stories that I always look forward to reading. Thanks for the post!

    3. Thanks for the new chapter. I was looking for more pages, which means that I would love MORE. I agree that Anglica is being VERY mature, understanding and supportive of Lyndsay. PPS:o).

    4. Good job Angie. This is a big step for Lyndsay and its not a matter of whether she loves Angie or not, coming out to family, friends, etc., is a huge step and one that should be thought about. Angie is so right in supporting her in whatever she chooses. Love how Barb put Angie at ease. She is so like her Mother’s.

    5. Angie was so much the classy lady tonight,so like her Mom. Bette was so like that with Tina in their beginning. Wait until so male friend of Lyndie want to flirt or trys to make out with Angie and the time will be right.

    6. Mama bear Bette and Mama Bear Tina would be very proud of their little cub and the way she handled everything once getting to Lynds parents home and at the restaurant. She did not take anything for granted and acted with respect and love for Lynds and her parents, as well as the friends at the club. PPS

    7. Pretty interesting chappy, Tazzie. It was hilarious how Bette finally decided to stay with Linds. Hmmm It is odd that Lindsay may feel not ready to be out with her friends. Time will help. Angie’s understanding about the whole situation was very sweet indeed. Thanks for sharing this beautiful chapter. PPS Hugs & kisses on both your cheeks – Lu & Marsh (Proud Salsa Aunties to the ever loving JC and Eunichick)

    8. Tazzie you make Angie so sweet, I like the way she so giving to Lyndsay, she will get back tenfold what she puts into the begining of this relationship. If they continue to stay LD I thing Lyndsay will be missing Angie and start telling people till the ones that count all know. After that to each their own. I can’t believe that it has only been a few day since your last post, I was so waiting to find out where Angie’s room was. Thank you, Md

    10. Tazzzzzzie Girl! LWE’s are good!!!! Really! Honestly! LOL! This was awesome! You weaved so much of real life within the pages here, and out of all of it, I LOVED Angie’s reactions. While it’s hard to be so important to someone and remain “hidden,” it’s good to see that Angie is showing patience and being there for Lynds in that way. The question is, knowing how Ange is a product of a Porter, I wonder how long she will deal with being in the shadows? Let’s hope patience prevails for a while longer, as Lyndsay hopefully comes to terms and allows herself to share with others, one of the best things that has happened to her! Bring it on my friend. {{hugs}} SE’s..hmph!

    11. I am glad I got up early this morning to find this chapter waiting. Great chapter. I love this story. Angie was sweet not pressurising Lyndsay into telling her friends. Lyndsay will do that in her own time. Can’t wait for another chapter. PPS. K x
