    So….where is Angie’s room???

     

    Chapter 37

    Lyndsay stood and stared and Angie. “What do you mean where is my room? Right here.”

    “I don’t think so Lynds.”

    Lyndsay wasn’t sure what Angie was saying. “Ang….what are you talking about? This is my room and you are staying with me.”

    Angelica placed her bag down on the floor. This was not what she had expected. On her first visit to Lyndsay’s parent’s home, she was not about to upset the apple cart and wasn’t sure this was the best move for them to be making. Her hesitation to respond was starting to get to Lyndsay.

    “Ang don’t be silly.” With that she walked into the room leaving Angie standing in the hallway.

    Charley had made his way upstairs and was sitting on the floor beside Angie’s feet. She looked down at the pup and asked “What am I going to do with her?”

    The dog just looked up at her, then proceeded to follow Lyndsay into the room.

    “Great, even the dog thinks I should stay in there.” With that she entered the room, but left her suitcase in the hallway.

    Lyndsay was busy unpacking her suitcase when Angelica walked in and sat on the bed. Without looking at her girlfriend Lyndsay questioned her “I don’t understand what the problem with sleeping in here is.”

    Angelica sat looking at her hands that were folded in her lap. How could she explain this so that Lyndsay understood that she was not comfortable being in her parent’s house for the first time and sleeping in the same bed given their relationship.

    “Lynds, I just don’t want your parents to feel uncomfortable that’s all. This still has to be new to them and I’m concerned that they will ….” Angelica didn’t get to finish her sentence.

    “Who’s suitcase is in the hallway?” Barb was standing in the doorway holding some clean towels in her arms. She walked in and headed for the bathroom off Lyndsay’s room to place the towels down. When she returned, she stood looking at the two young women waiting for an answer.

    Angelica quietly responded “It’s mine.”

    “Well what is it doing out there?”

    “That’s what I would like to know.” Responded Lyndsay who proceeded to walk into the bathroom and close the door, leaving Barb and Angelica alone in her room.

    1. Wow, two awkward moments that Angelica navigated nicely through. It is hard for Lyndsay, especially since this is quite new to her. It will take time for her to comes to terms with herself and when she does, she won’t want to hide it. Taz beautifully written!

    4. Good job Angie. This is a big step for Lyndsay and its not a matter of whether she loves Angie or not, coming out to family, friends, etc., is a huge step and one that should be thought about. Angie is so right in supporting her in whatever she chooses. Love how Barb put Angie at ease. She is so like her Mother’s.

    5. Angie was so much the classy lady tonight,so like her Mom. Bette was so like that with Tina in their beginning. Wait until so male friend of Lyndie want to flirt or trys to make out with Angie and the time will be right.

    6. Mama bear Bette and Mama Bear Tina would be very proud of their little cub and the way she handled everything once getting to Lynds parents home and at the restaurant. She did not take anything for granted and acted with respect and love for Lynds and her parents, as well as the friends at the club. PPS

    7. Pretty interesting chappy, Tazzie. It was hilarious how Bette finally decided to stay with Linds. Hmmm It is odd that Lindsay may feel not ready to be out with her friends. Time will help. Angie’s understanding about the whole situation was very sweet indeed. Thanks for sharing this beautiful chapter.     12. Tazzzzzzie Girl! LWE’s are good!!!! Really! Honestly! LOL! This was awesome! You weaved so much of real life within the pages here, and out of all of it, I LOVED Angie’s reactions. While it’s hard to be so important to someone and remain “hidden,” it’s good to see that Angie is showing patience and being there for Lynds in that way. The question is, knowing how Ange is a product of a Porter, I wonder how long she will deal with being in the shadows? Let’s hope patience prevails for a while longer, as Lyndsay hopefully comes to terms and allows herself to share with others, one of the best things that has happened to her!
