Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 32
Tuesday morning arrived and Angie headed to Florida to meet her client. After Lyndsay had called in sick to work, they had spent most of Monday in bed making love over and over again to each other, stopping only for the occasional shower and to eat. As the weeks passed by, Lyndsay and Angie talked almost daily and continued to discover the various likes and dislike’s each possessed. It turned out that for the most part they were indeed most compatible. They had discussed at length the desire of Lyndsay’s parents to meet Angie in a non-art event related manner and when the subject came up of Thanksgiving, Angie agreed to go with Lyndsay to North Carolina for the holiday weekend. This didn’t please her own Mom’s too much as they had hoped she would come home to California, but she simply stated that this was important to Lyndsay so she had agreed.
As the week of Thanksgiving arrived, Angie found herself extremely nervous about going to North Carolina. The plan was for her to fly into Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem on Tuesday evening to stay with Lyndsay, then on Wednesday they would drive together to Raleigh and spend the holiday weekend with Lyndsay’s family. Wanting to make sure she made a good first impression as the “girlfriend” she arranged to have a huge flower arrangement delivered to Lyndsay’s Mom on Tuesday afternoon, and arranged to have a special bottle of single malt scotch delivered for Lyndsay’s Dad.
It was Monday night of Thanksgiving week and Angie was busy organizing her clothes to pack for the weekend. If had been just the two of them, somewhere warm on a beach, a couple of bikinis and a few other items would have been all she would have needed. However, Thanksgiving in North Carolina at Lyndsay’s parents house no less, meant that it would not be a clothing optional weekend.
The phone startled her out of her day dream when it rang.
Not looking to see who was calling she simply answered “Hello.”
“Hi Baby, are you all packed?”
“Just finishing up. I’m sure I have enough clothes laid out here for an entire month.”
“Why are you bringing so much with you?”
“I have no idea what to wear, so I have a little bit of everything….just to keep my options open.”
“I did tell you that it’s fairly casual at Mom and Dad’s right? No one expects you to be in a suit every day.”
Angie was quiet….she had in fact packed three suits when she couldn’t make up her mind which one to bring.
The silence concerned Lyndsay who wondered to herself ‘I hope she hasn’t changed her mind’.
“Ang…..baby are you still there?”
“Yeah I’m here.”
Lyndsay wondered if the silence from the other end of the phone meant that she was right. “Sweetie, how many suits do you have packed?”
Sheepishly Angie replied “three”.
Lyndsay laughed out loud. “Three? Where do you plan on wearing three suits?”
Angie was not getting very nervous. “I don’t know. I just want them to like me. I want to make a good impression.”
“You will be fine….just be you. Besides you’ve met both of them before, there is nothing to be afraid of.”
Angie wasn’t buying into it that easily. “Uh Huh….and can you tell me that you were not nervous when you met my Moms?”
“That was different.”
“And why was that different?”
“Because………..well because you already know my Mom and Dad from the Art community, I was introduced to your Moms unexpectedly when they caught us fooling around on your couch.”
Angie laughed at the memory of her Mom’s standing in the living room of her apartment as she and Lyndsay were ‘getting acquainted’.
The two talked for a few more minutes, Lyndsay convinced Angie to bring one suit, just in case, although she really didn’t see the need and they confirmed the flight times for the next day.
Angie had a hard time falling asleep that night. This was big. It was meet the family time. She wondered if she was ready for this…..what if things didn’t go well, then what? Glancing at the clock she saw the time……2:00AM. She rolled over to the other side of the bed, picked up the phone and placed a much needed call.

Wonderful update Taz. When I read this, I see Angie as a young Bette…perhaps a little more balanced, but still a young Bette. Too bad Bette and Tina didn’t get invited to Lyndsay’s for Thanksgiving too.
3 suites… yes she is bette’s daughter…
Well someone grab a firehose and put out that inferno! Woman, what are you doing to us here? Okay, so we both just shared a chuckle about the ad at the bottom of page 1 which had been showing counter tops. Gee…..wonder why? LMAO!!!! That is just too funny. Loved the passion, fire, and excitement between these two love birds. As for Angie, things will be fine when she meets the parents, I just know it. Well…then again, it is Spazzie Tazzie at the helm, so anything can happen. Be gentle with B&T’s little gal now. Thanks for the post, and hey…if it takes a good fever to get this out of you, then so be it. Turn up the heat!
I love this story and I can’t wait to see what will happen over the weekend so pps great update I love it
Umm another stunning chapter. Should be fun when Angelica meets Lyndsay’s parents socially for the first time as her girlfriend. I hope they get to sleep in the same room. Sizzling chapter. My mum made my girlfriend sleep in the spare room thank God he floor boards between the rooms didn’t creek. PPS
Holy Sheets, is meet the parents really that bad????????? I never had to meet the parents and my offspring better always bring who they really want me to meet, because my world goes like this, start as you mean to go. Three suits for Thanksgiving week???? That Ange need to unwind a bit, do ya think we can see that happen real soon??? Please??? Thank you, Md
We can imagine Angie’s anxiety to fit in with Linds’ parents. Nope. It doesn’t matter that she has already met them under different circumstances. Now, their daughter is at stake. We totally understand Angie’s concern as to be accepted as Linds fiancee. That urgent phone call, should be directed to Tina. It does make sense, as she thinks she may need some advice, as how to act with her future in-laws. Thanks for this special update. PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
