    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 25

“Are you going to tell them this weekend?”

“I think so. I can’t keep it hidden, they are bound to find out eventually and I would rather it came from me.”

“How do you think they will react?”

“I don’t know. You know them, they have always been open minded and accepting…..so I hope they at least try to understand.”

“Yeah but Lynds…you are their daughter…this is different.”

    “Why? Why is it different?”

“Oh, I don’t know….the fact that you have always dated guys. What about Rob? Have you told them you broke up with him?”

Lyndsay knew that the subject of her now ex-boyfriend was bound to come up with her parents. How would she tell them she broke up with him, because she was in love with Angie?

“No…..actually I haven’t told them about Rob and I yet.”

    “What are you waiting for?”

“I don’t know. It just hasn’t come up whenever I have talked to them.”

“Your dad didn’t ask about him when you saw him in New York?”

“No…..with everything else going on that night, it never came up. There was already enough drama, I didn’t need a lecture from my father about that too.”

Carolyn chuckled. She had been privy to David MacKenzie in lecture mode more than once over the years as her and Lyndsay had gotten into their fair share of adventures over the years. David was always going on and on about the future, and how Lyndsay needed to keep a clear record in case she had any desires to serve in public office. He had devoted a great deal of his life to that avenue and knew how important it was. Lyndsay had always said she had no desire to follow in her father’s footsteps, and when she had chosen her desired major at college, he had reluctantly given in, wishing that she had chosen business or law instead. Barbara MacKenzie had been the voice of reason, siding with her daughter’s choice and convincing her husband that it was up to Lyndsay to decide what she wanted to do with her life, not their’s. He had however won out in the end as to where she would attend, and North Carolina State University’s College of Design was the place. This way she could remain near home, and he could keep a watchful eye out on his only daughter.

    1. Well look at who decided to top me. ;-) LOL!!! Thanks for your email. I promise to respond back sooner than later. You are a very wise woman you know that? Anywayyyyy….so how funny was Carolyn wanting to know all the details eh? Hee Hee. I loved it! I had this smirk on my face the whole time. Course I kind of wished Angie was going to provide a little more detail, but it was so tender what she offered anyway. I love that you are giving Lyndsay the courage to make a long distance relationship work. It’s harder than hell, I know this first hand, but I also know that it is SO worth it in the end. I hope she doesn’t end up getting scared and not telling her parents. It’s one of the hardest things in the world, but when you love someone and want to be with them, you want nothing more for your family to embrace the idea. Even if they don’t, at least you have been able to be true to your own self and the other person that share’s your relationship and maybe possibly your life. This is one hell of a story Tazzie. I’m thrilled you are writing it, and you take your time. I know all too well the feeling of having the plate full. {{{hugs}} Talk to you soon hun.

    2. What Rob? Indeed, who is Rob? Truth time Lyndsay, no time like the present. Loving your story telling. Just take your time even tho’ I do look for it; its worth the wait.

    3. Taz, we’ll wait for when you have time. I can just hear this convo in my house. “Mom: wheres boyfriend, Daughter: hey, wheres dad, how bout those panthere, oh, hey dad, did you get me that item I asked for? Dad; ya you want me to come over and install it or will boyfriend do it? Daughter; Oh, by the way, bf is now gf, can you pass the suger. I often wonder if they sweat this stuff or are they really that smooth. Thank you Taz, Md

    4. Wow a new chapter to wake up to. Thanks Tazzie. I too know first hand how hard it is to tell your family. I had fun when I told my mum she wouldn’t speak to me but my dad ws great. Now my wife and mum get on well. It is so worth it in the end as you get to be yourself and get to be with the person you love. Like Chicki I am thrilled you have posted another chapter. Keep it up.

    5. Hey, Tazzie! *waving* We loved this update. Hmmm How tender Lindsay if while remembering all the delicate details she went through with Angie. Awww, Linds is sooo sweet. As for B and Angie coming to terms, that is absolutely charming. The most important fact is that B finally respects her daughter’s point of view. Tina’s resolution to advice Linds about the difficulties she may face, while being in a relationship with a Porter girl, certainly is endearing. Thanks, Tazzie. You are unfolding this story in such a beautiful way, that we really are enjoying every bit of it. PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
