American Werewolves in London: Snogging Beneath the Moon

Bette started to cry then, pressing her face against Helena’s cool skin as sobs wracked her body. Helena turned her until she was on her back, and began to kiss away her tears, soothing her with her hands. “Bette…Bette, it’s not so bad…” She murmured against her skin. “Maybe this was what needed to happen.  Maybe I have to travel with you for awhile…a long while…” She smiled as strong thighs parted to make room for her. When she looked up into Bette’s eyes, the other woman’s tears were drying. Helena reached to caress her face and said “there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than with you.”

“But your old life.” Bette sniffled, though she was growing warmer where Helena’s torso rested. Helena’s skin was cool to the touch, yet still warm somehow.  Bette couldn’t explain it, other than that she felt a deep connection to the woman nestled against her body. “Your old life…you had a job, and a home, and a family.”

“I came home from work, extremely late every night, and I slept alone.” Helena said firmly. Her hands moved down to stroke Bette’s thighs. “My mother rarely visited, and work…well, I suppose I’ll miss that…” She reached behind her to grasp Bette’s ankles, wrapping long legs around her back, and rested her cheek against the soft skin of her lover’s belly.

She would miss work.  Most of all, she would miss the feeling that she was providing a service—an essential one at that—and that she was somehow nurturing something important. She was nurturing life, but then again…

    Death…

    Life…

Two sides of the same coin?

Helena had to admit, that the scientist within her was intensely curious about what might come next.

“Now that I’m immortal, I might find answers that were closed to me before.” She whispered to the woman gazing intensely down at her.

“Just kiss me.” Bette whispered back. Her hands stroked the contours of Helena’s face, lingering on high cheekbones and perfect lips. “We’ll worry about immortality and the meaning of life in the morning…”

“evening.” Helena corrected, lowering her mouth to press warmly against Bette’s hipbones.  Bette burst into laughter briefly, evoking a grin on Helena’s own lips.

    1. Damn right the ‘disco’ Bee Gees were annoying. Their earlier incarnations weren’t so bad, but by then they sounded like chimps on speed. (BTW, the earliest form of disco had a lot more to do with soul and funk than the pop crap we now know under that name.) So Bette’s hybrid (how green was my wolfie) and Jenny is just as universally reviled as ever. But she doesn’t seem to have any regrets now that she’s not crumbling. Nor many on Helena’s part, either. As yet, but Tina seems to, so what’s her deal? Glad you’re not bailing on this one, but you know I have the hunger for PT in my blood. Oww, owww, owwwwooooh!

    2. Ok hb, let me get this straight, pardon the expression. Bette here is a werewolf and Helena a new vampire, and you don’t want to write PT cos of the bad things you have done to B and H THERE??? Yer breaking my heart hb…you be making my Belena undead killers and what have you!May I recommend diet pepsi instead as a fine beverage? I would like to know how funny knows what chimps on speed sound like..what kinda parties SHE been going to? I LIKE the Bee Gees, at least the pre disco stuff… I shall tolerate no maligning!! Going now to hide away from all you bloodthirsty undead prowling howling critters…

    3. i’m writing PT tonite…but i’m feeling badly cuz bad bad things have happened in the chapter i’m writing…it’s turning into the saddest thing since xena died for the 100th and final time.

    4. Praise be, HB! (ha, that rhymes!) Glad to hear PT is back in the pipeline. Hope you get it out tonight as I really should devote tomorrow to studying for a seriously hairy test tomorrow night. But with the hunger in my blood unsatisfied for so long I may not be able to resist whenever it shows up. May it be soon. And you’re not scaring me with your somber pronouncments regarding Xena’s multideaths. YOU seem to have survived them all, just like the rest of us. So bring it on! And susannah, I’ve certainly seen the effects of speed on humans, and between old Tarzan movies and nature programs I certainly know what chimp shrieks sound like, so it only takes a little imagination to put the two together. It’s a thought that makes me want to run away. BTW, did you know the eldest Bee Gee was born in the same miniscule nation my father’s antecedents were shunned away from? Rumor has it they were horse theives. Just a fun fact for you.

    5. ok, an immortal scotswoman shall be thrown in for madcapper. i looooove that ‘can’t die cept for a beheading’ sh**! hehe, poooor xena. and NO i did NOT survive that dissapointment! *kicks universal’s a** for ruining her favorite lesbo franchise…pt is stalled..soon though…lol

    6. Hello HB, I am so happy that you are going to bring us more of this incredibly entertaining and wickedly diverse story. You are certainly throwing in everything including the kitchen sink and as I read this story (as well as your other amazing adventures) I can feel the insane amount of fun you must be having bringing everything together. Your creativity is so amazing and such an inspiration, you Rock my world :P. Sincerely, JC

    7. funnyone, i believe i was singing it over and over one night when you reminded me of its wonderous wonder…other than that song, i don’t listen to the blue oysters. the bee gees were mildly amusing in their disconess, but i guess it was just an opportunity to get some gay vampire action going on. i may even have to write some m/m scene and FREAK everyone out!! PT is going very very slowly…it’s hard to write it when I’ve done such a meanie thing to the two mains…

    8. Hey babe, I got caught up! hehe … I love that whatever the story, Jenny’s still a loose cannon, I am *also* glad that you decided to continue, but oh my, what have you done to PT if it’s as bad as Xena’s 100th death, *cries*
