    Author Notes:

    Bette finally introduces Tina to the girls at a beach date…

    "I am Mother Nature, and I do not like the way you treated my buttercups. From now on, you won’t be able to stand the taste of butter. Each time you eat butter you will become physically ill to the point of total nausea."

    The mystery woman then disappears as quickly as she appeared.

    Shaken, the woman calls out to her partner, "Hey baby, where’s your ball?"

    ”Um…”  Her partner looks around and spots the ball.  "It’s over here, babe, in the pussy willows."

    She screams back, "BABY!!!  WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T HIT THE BALL! DO NOT HITTING THAT FUCKING BALL!"

     

    The group of women erupted in laughter. 

     

    Alice wiped a tear that dropped from the corner of her eye, “Pussy willows…gets me every time!”

     

    “Where did you hear that joke, Shane?”  Dana questioned.

     

    “Was out with a golfer last week,” Shane replied with a shrug.

     

    Alice stood up and grabbed Tina’s hand to pull her up from her beach towel.  “Hit the water with me, Tina!”

     

    Tina turned to Bette who remained on her towel.  “You ready to head out there?”

     

    Bette looked up at the blonde and put her hand out to shield the bright sun.  “I’ll hang out here for a bit, okay?” 

     

    Tina nodded and smiled at the brunette.  She then walked arm in arm with Alice toward the California surf.

     

    Bette eyed the blonde’s delectable body.  ‘The way Tina sways her hips when she walks drives me insane!’

     

    Alice said something causing Tina to laugh and loved watching the blonde toss her head back in laughter.  Bette loved Tina’s infectious laugh.  Bette continued to watch Tina until she was completely submerged in the Pacific’s warm waters and sighed in frustration.

     

    Dana and Shane noticed the brunette’s expression.

     

    “You’ve got it bad, Bette.”  Shane held out another ice cold bottle of beer to her.

     

    “You have no idea.”  Bette accepted the chilled beverage.

     

    “Think those two are okay out there?”  Bette asked with concern.

     

    “Tina seems really nice…I don’t think she will try to drown Alice just yet.”  Dana replied honestly.

     

    The three friends shared a wholehearted laugh.

     

    “Tina’s great Bette…” Shane observed.

     

    “She is.”  Bette grinned.

     

    “You happy?”  Shane asked Bette.

     

    “Like you wouldn’t believe,” Bette flashed that killer smile of hers.

     

    Dana was giddy looking at Bette’s reaction to Tina.  “You look like a woman in love…”

     

    Bette inhaled deeply and answered with all her heart, “I am.”

    2. This chapter was a gem, had more cracks per minute than airplane! “Damn Porter! I didn’t know your daddy was a baker…look at those mighty fine buns!” LOL.
