    As their yacht date comes to an end, Bette and Tina figure out the beginning of their future…

     

    “You’re the ideal, Bette.  Intelligent, beautiful, kind…I surely am not the first woman to come waltzing into your life.”

     

    “No Tee…you’re not the first,” Bette answered, “But you’re the one I intend to waltz with for as long as you’ll have me.”

     

    “As long as I’m not…”  Tina was uncomfortable sharing her fear.

     

    “Not what?” 

     

    “The straight chick challenge,” Tina aired her concern.

     

    “You would never be.”  Bette assured her.  “In my defense, I didn’t know you were straight!”

     

    Tina laughed.  “Apparently because I’m not!”

     

    Bette chuckled at Tina’s answer and placed the car in park as they arrived in Tina’s driveway. 

     

    “So here we are…”  Bette tapped her finger at the clock displayed on the dashboard that illuminated 11:49.  “Look at that, I have you home before midnight.”

     

    “I’m not Cinderella, you know?”

     

    “Of course not…we’ve firmly established that you’re Mother Theresa and I assume you have early Sunday mass to attend?”

     

    Tina swatted at Bette but couldn’t help but laugh.  “No mass, smart ass.”

     

    Bette chuckled, “Well, be sure to confess for all the profanity whenever you go.”

     

    Tina looked at Bette with awe.  “I had the most magnificent time, Bette.  I don’t even know how to thank you for this evening…”

     

    “I’m sure we can come up with something.” Bette winked.

     

    Tina swatted her.  “Bette Porter!”

     

    Bette rubbed her arm.  “Tee…I meant you could spend more time with me.”

     

    “Oh!”  Tina’s cheeks began to blush.  “I thought you meant…”

     

    “Yeah…yeah…I know where your mind is.  I never fell for that innocent Southern girl act, you know?”

     

    “Hey!  I am an innocent Southern girl, thank you very much.”

     

    ‘Not if I have my way, sweetheart!’ Bette thought to herself.  “Whatever you say, flirty.”

     

    Tina rolled her eyes.  “Oh God, here we go…”

     

    Bette chuckled at their banter.

     

    “I should probably go…”  Tina started to reach to the door’s handle.

     

    “Wait!  Don’t move,” Bette instructed, as she quickly exited the driver’s side and sauntered over to the other side to open Tina’s door.

     

    Tina could not help but smile at Bette’s actions that made her feel so cared for and loved.  “Why, thank you.”

    2. Luv, I have to tell you something,um… reading this story makes me wanna fall in love *blushes* :) I am so glad I have finally caught up with the story. Loved everything about this chappie, the witty banter, the flirting it was great and I was sad that the date had to come to an end :( I am looking forward to many more Tibette dates like this one!     13. I just caught up and was extremely excited. Their date was incredible and lovely. If there had been and iceberg out in the ocean, the heat radiating from them would have melted it in seconds.

I really like the humour, the teasing, the sweetness adn the slow romance. Great update and thank you. You are so right with what the show gave us thank god for fanfic. On another note -steak and cake (Chocolate my favourite)and homemade in that – I could definitely get used to this – I might not move out :)Oh and by the way – this isn’t a buttering up :D

    19. i actually liked how their date ended. it was super sweet and cute. i love how vulnerable tina-considering that this is something “new” to her. and bette is just willing to give her the time. and yup…to fall in love! how great the feeling…and it all began with jacket :) i love your writing, girl!
