Tina had to force herself to break free from her gaze into Bette Porter’s warm chocolate colored eyes. “So…” Tina regained her composure and looked back at Bette. “How about that tour?”
Bette nodded her head in agreement and stood up. She extended her hand to help Tina from the couch. When their hands touched, the instant jolt was felt by both and simply could not be denied.
Bette gently placed her hand behind Tina’s back to lead out to the gallery. “As you wish.”
Tina was so relieved that the misunderstanding about Rachel was cleared up and she had some time alone with Bette. Each time they spent together, Tina felt butterflies in her stomach and a happy dizziness.
Bette could not stop herself from sporting her wide grin since finding out Redheaded Rachel was not Tina’s girlfriend but Tina’s business partner at Alphaville. Tina Kennard, the woman whom she had been chasing in and out of her dreams, was walking the gallery with her.
They initially walked in silence but it wasn’t one of those uncomfortable silences where you are dreading the moment. It was two people that were enjoying being in company of one another without pressure to speak. Not that there was a lack of non-verbal language…
Tina and Bette took turns stealing glances at one another.
With each glance, Tina’s heart raced a little faster. ‘She’s gorgeous!’
Bette enjoyed each sneak peek of Tina as well. Bette had a smile on her face as she remembered one of Alice’s eloquent comments, “You could cut the sexual tension with a butter knife for fuck’s sake!”
Tina finally broke the silence, “I’m no expert in this field.” Tina was hesitant and spoke in a soft voice.
“Why are you whispering?” Bette asked her softly.
“I’m being given a personal tour from the Gallery’s owner…I do not want others to know you’re walking around with the Art for Dummies poster child.”
Bette loved Tina’s honesty. “Art is interpretive. There is no right or wrong. It’s not simply black and white.”
Tina noticed a large canvas with a black and white figure in the contemporary art section. “Sometimes it is.”
Bette chuckled. “You just have to observe and perhaps what you see causes a reaction from within. Anything catch your attention?”

Definitely a fun chapter. Loved their volley back and forth – not too sweet, not too sappy, none too cheesy either. ;) Absolutely perfect.
I love that they’ve gotten past some of the confusion. I also love how they throw each other so off guard. They might both need an inhaler sooner or later. :) Thanks for posting!
i just can’t see my self going to a bartender and orderimg a “Piece of ass”… maybe when i’m in vegas later on this year i might ask a cocktail waitress… back to the story… love the glances and their thoughts… too cute… lunch oe dinner should be soon…pps
