A Space Between: Bette, Tina and their Primordial Buddha, Chapter Three
Tina had not packed Bette’s luggage, but had instead folded and laid out on their bed the clothes she thought Bette would want, Toiletries were also displayed and Tina showed Bette a list of items she had had shipped to their Beijing hotel
“You’ve really planned this.” Bette laughed at the large supply of hair products that Tina had set aside for Bette to yea or nay.
Tina shrugged. “It would be a shame to spend our time in Hong Kong or Beijing trying to find your products. “
Bette nodded, acknowledging Tina’s wisdom.
#######
They had to pass through the first class section to reach their business class seats. Bette glanced longingly at the luxurious section.
Tina noticed and playfully poked Bette’s shoulder, “Greedy.”
A sheepish Bette muttered “Sorry.”
#######
Business class, in fact, was quite luxurious.
Bette took the window seat, always her preference on long flights.
After they had taken their seats, Tina babied Bette. She made sure that Bette had a pillow, blanket, slippers, eyeshade, water—everything needed for their 14 hour flight across the Pacific.
“T, this is costing a king’s ransom, isn’t it?”
Tina looked at Bette disapprovingly. “You know better.
Bette thought for a moment. “What did you finagle?’
Tina smiled conspiratorially and lowered her voice, “I had a first class ticket, courtesy of Alphaville. Must be fresh for my meetings, you know.” Tina winked at Bette. “I treaded it for two full fare coach and then upgraded us with frequest flier miles.. The bad news though, is this trip will exhaust my stockpile of miles. We’ll have to travel on yours for a the foreseeable future.”
“I haven’t amassed as many as you. We’ll be flying coach for a while, but it’s OK. It’s much cozier.”
A few minutes later, Bette asked Tina, “When is your fist meeting?”
“Six and a half hours after we land.”
“T, you needed that first class seat.”
Tina reached over and rubbed Bette’s are. “I’ll have a much better trip sitting next to you.”
Bette pushed forward in her seat and stood, “Come on. We’re switching.”
“What?”

I just caught this installment. It’s nice. I’ll have to check out the rest. Plus I give Tina props for planning; they probably would have had trouble getting Bette’s hair products in Beijing.
I truly enjoyed seeing this special moment in time. I hope you change history as you write and bring the love and priority to one another with them into later days. PHENOMENAL chapter!
finally, continuation of this story…i agree with bailey about some sadness knowing what had become of tibette later but i could see how perfect they were together, no matter what
I miss this story. I hope you’ll post soon, Spumoni.
Beautifully written, but with an undertone of sadness knowing what we know will become of this couple. Tina’s wishful thinking that Bette will have more free time now that she works for the CAC. Makes you want to reach back in time and rewrite some of their history…which I hope you do :)
Hey your muse isn’t all that’s been MIA! Check the mailbox dude! I like this story, even with the Tina factor, because it shows her thinking about Bette and caring about her feelings, and also not depending on Bette for everything. I wonder what Bette wrote on the Alphaville thing? It’s kind of cool that they each can use their professional skills to help each other like that.
Fantastic to see you posting! I adore your playful, flirty, sexy, so-in-love Bette and Tina. Your muse has most definitely returned.
” Long time no post! My muse abandoned me. Maybe, After reading this, you may think she is still ” Muse seems great!… ;-)
Well I’ll Be!! You’ve posted again! I think you’re Muse is in perfectly working order! This was awesome update and I can’t wait to see what Bette contributed to Tina’s business plans!
Very nice – love their interaction on the plane – so cute. Let’s see what happens next. Do post soon
