A Single Mom Meets Someone New! Ch 12

    Chapter 15

“I am going to bed.” Gillian said. She had been watching Bette and Tina make eyes at each other all night, and even though she couldn’t prove it she was sure that they had been holding hands under the table too.

“Okay sweetie. I’ll see you in the morning.” Tina said.

    “Goodnight Bette.” Gillian said.

“Goodnight.” Bette said. Gillian went upstairs.

“Tina I should probably be going.” Bette said.

    “Don’t. Not yet.” Tina said.

“Okay.” Bette said. Tina began putting up the game that had played twice. Bette helped her.

“I had fun tonight.” Bette said.

“Good. I take you don’t stay home much.” Tina said. Bette looked at Tina. She knew her reputation had gotten to Tina.

“No. Not really. I think that’s because I hate going home to an empty house. It never bothered me before. I guess things..” Bette said.

    “Change.” Tina said.

    “Yeah.” Bette said.

“You know change isn’t such a bad thing.” Tina said.

“Believe me I know. For the first time don’t feel or want to work all the time.” Bette said.

“I promised myself when I had Gillian that I wouldn’t be that parent that works all the time. I didn’t want her raised by a nanny who knew her better than I did.” Tina said.

“If you don’t mind me asking. How did you do it? Career and Family.” Bette said.

“It wasn’t easy. Gillian’s dad and I both agreed on the nanny issue and we worked together to make it happen. The studio was always really good about it. I worked a lot from home. We eventually had to breakdown and get a nanny but she was there just to assist. Like if I had a meeting or something that I couldn’t take Gillian to she kept her, but it wasn’t all day or every day. We were lucky. It worked out a lot of the time that if I had something Leo didn’t. By the time we divorced Gillian was 11 and was very involved in after school activities. At that point Leo hired a driver to take her every where.” Bette listened to Tina intently.

    1. Tina is slick. She lets Gillian go if there is a chaperone. Then the chaperone turns out to be her and then to top it all off she asks if she could bring a guest. We all know who that guest is going to be. Great way for Gillian to see Bette outside of her home.

    2. Tina is so lucky, has a smart child, she will go to see Madonna and the person that will be beside her will be Bette, what more she can ask? this is so good story
