A Single Mom Meets Someone New Ch 108

“I hope so. Is there any way you can forgive me?” Tina asked.

“There is nothing to forgive. I was the one over reacting. You were just trying to protect me. I was hoping that we could start over with a clean slate.” Gillian said.

“Of course.” Tina was tearing up.

“There is just one thing though.” Gillian said. Tina looked at her. “No more lying.”

“Deal.” Tina said. Gillian walked over and hugged her crying mother.

    *********

Tina walked into her kitchen and hung her keys on the hook. Geri walked in from the Den.

“How was your day?” She asked.

“Gillian came by.” Tina said taking her shoes off.

    “And?” Geri asked.

“I’m amazed at how grown up my little girl is.” Tina said and headed up the back stairs.

“Good or bad?” Geri asked following her.

    “Both.” Tina answered.

    “Both?” Geri was confused.

“Good that she has grown up into to a mature strong woman and bad that I had very little do with it.” Tina hung her jacket on a hanger and hung it in the closet.

“I’m confused.” Geri sat on a chair in the corner.

“I spent the whole afternoon with her. It was amazing. We talked. Actually talked like we used to.” Tina continued to change into her house clothes.

    “That’s wonderful.” Geri said.

    “Yes it is.” Tina said.

“How did you end it?” She asked.

“She’s coming for dinner saturday night?” Tina said.

    “Oh.” Geri sounded almost disappointed.

“She wants to meet you.” Tina looked at Geri.

“I’m not so sure that’s a great idea.” She answered. Tina smiled and sat on Geri’s lap.

“Relax honey, she’s not going to bite you.” Tina said.

“I know that. It’s just that in a relationship meeting someone’s kids is more serious than meeting someone’s parents. Not to mention Gillian and I didn’t exactly have a good first meeting.” Geri explained.

“You’re not meeting all my kids on saturday just one.” Tina said and kissed Geri. “Now let’s go fix some dinner. I’m starving.” Tina jumped up and headed down stairs.

“It’s not the others I’m worried about.” Geri said to herself looking at picture of Gillian that hung on the wall next to her.

    1. Great chapter. I can’t believe this Tina, I thought when she and Bette found each other, that Bette would be all she needed, guess she is one of those when the newness wears off she wants someone else. And she has moved geri into their home, what the hell. Can she just let the woman live in her own place and keep her out of their home. From what geri just said sounds like she does not want to be bothered with children at all, not to mention the ex-wife. Tina better get her act together or maybe geri will do it for her by not wanting to have the children over for an entire week. Hopefully Tina will understand this and get her butt back to Bette and her family. Really disappointed in this Tina. Thanks for posting.

    2. Okay, still can’t see a resolution to this story..or see one I will like!! I know you are a Tibette fan..but this is killing me!!! Your writing is so good I can visualize Tina and Gillian, then Tina goes home to Geri and my stomach just turns flips…not liking it..and I find myself hoping that Geri is just not interested in dealing with anyone’s kids…just the mama!! So, maybe Gillian coming to dinner will be a good thing?? Hmmmmm!

    3. Don’t take things personal with negative comments about this Tina. When faced with such a change in a character that we are all accustomed to… It’s hard to wrap your head around it. May be it will be better for both Bette and this Tina not to be together. Life does go that way sometimes. It’s better if they live with their truth (their time together has maybe come and gone.) Than to live with our illusion that they should be together, no matter what. It seems from this chapter that Tina is over Bette and has moved on with Geri. No use beating a dead horse. Thanks for posting.

    4. Great chapter! Love the way you write! But have to agree with all comments before. Don’t like this Tina and it’s not believable to me, no matter how good you write it. If there was Belena in the mix, I’d be satisfied with no tibette, but this Tina sounds like she’s waaaay over Bette, not trying to salvage marriage. LOts of Qs only you can answer, so post soon!
