“Very well, I apologize Christina If my OPINION has in anyway offended you” Melvin said while looking at Bette.
“No, Mr. Porter I was not offended” Tina replied sensing the tension in the room Tina spoke very quietly
“Bette, we should get going if we’re serious about walking through the entire museum” Tina said as she grabbed Bette’s hand and started to pull her towards the door.
“Mr. Porter it was very nice to see you again” Tina said while opening the front door.
Melvin responded with a nod of his head.
After the girls walked out Melvin couldn’t help stop the smile that formed in his face ‘So it would seem Elizabeth has a crush on the Kennard girl’ he shook his head side to side. Melvin would never admit this to anyone especially not to his daughters but he was very proud of both of them after all he was their father and what kind of father didn’t want the best for his children to see them happy. He knew he wasn’t a very affectionate man and he would forever regret that part of him, but looking at his youngest daughter just now made him a very proud man.
He had finally come to terms with Elizabeth’s sexual orientation it took him a while, to come to realize that was just another part of Elizabeth, and as much as he tried he couldn’t change it and if it made Elizabeth happy, so be it. He always noticed a connection between Elizabeth and Christina; it was going to be interesting to see where it took them.
Bette was driving Tina’s car again so broke the silence and spoke first
“I’m sorry about daddy, he was way out of line”
“Bette, it’s ok I wasn’t offended”
“Still it’s none of his business, he had no right to talk down to you like that”
Bette was starting to get irritated all over again. She didn’t know what had gotten into her she had never spoken to her father that way before, something inside her snapped when she heard him talking to Tina in that condescending tone he used so many times with her, Bette felt the urge to defend and protect her.

Hey iluvmuzic, The gals are inching them way nearer together at every turn. Their failure to accept and acknowledge fully theior attraction to one another is so adorable. I loved when Bette got all uppity with Melvin over his dismissal of Tina’s choice of persuing Film Studies degree. Soo cute.Even after the museum, these girls circle around their real feelings.
