    A Part of Me

    Chapter 31

    Another year later…….

Tina was sitting in her office at the Focus Features studios; she was on the phone with a very irate director,

“Look, John I can’t spare the added expense there isn’t a blank check with your name on it, we have a budget, a budget we both approved, a budget we have increased already twice, there is no more funds available, work with what you have or I’ll find somebody who can”

“Ok great glad you see things my way, yes I’ll be on set first thing tomorrow morning, bye John”

Tina sat back in her chair, and let out a huge breath,

“These temperamental Directors they think the world revolves around them”

Tina turned her chair and stared at the painting on the wall, it had been almost 3 years since she last saw Bette back in New York, it had taken her a while but eventually she thought of Bette less and less it was only during stressful days like this that she wished she could pick up the phone and call her just to talk, Bette always had a way of making her feel better.

She loved that painting Bette had given her the picture of them at the beach it relaxed her calmed her soul.

She had been with Focus Features studios now for almost 2 years she started at the bottom as the producer’s assistant, she had worked her way up the corporate ladder so to speak and now she was the head of the Production and Development a Senior VP. She was the youngest executive on staff.

She loved her job, it was demanding at times, the movie business was brutal and competitive, it wasn’t for the faint of heart in a business where people became ruthless and unfeeling Tina had managed to remain true to herself, she dealt with honesty and a leveled head, it was one of the reasons she was respected and admired by her peers.

She looked at the clock and saw it was already 7:30 PM ‘UUUGH she had been in the office for over 12 hrs’ and now she had to make the drive to the beach house which was going to take her another hour, people thought Tina was crazy why she choose to live in a house that was so far from work when she could afford to live somewhere closer to the studio. But to Tina the beach house was her home plus the sound of the ocean at night was calming and relaxing.

    1. Sometimes it takes a person a long time to find their way home to the people that they love. Bette told Kit that she was going to make Tina her friend again. Is that all Bette wants friendship? Is Tina in a relationship? Hope Not thanks

    2. wow 3 years huh? I have a feeling that Bette will have to jump through a couple of hoops to get her woman back. even if Tina has another woman, she is no match for our Bette. still loving it. pps

    3. I have a theory but I’m not going to say anything. I know it’s not too late for Bette but this won’t be easy for her, especially if my theory is correct. Probably the vaguest comment you’ve ever received. Still silently reading, and still a fan. Thanks for the post.

    4. NAH its not too late, is it!! u said Tina was only recently thinking less of Porter but hey everytime she walks in that center, she remembers her first love. thx and pps.

    5. Thank you for the post. So, three years, Tina broke up with Bette the worst possible heartless way, in an uber cold e-mail, asked Bette never to contact her again. Bette did just that. Which means that Bette is in the wrong and have some major groveling to do??? Sorry, just cannot get my head around this.
