Just then Bettes cellphone startet ringing. ID-caller said DAD. “*****……Im not in the mode to talk to him”, Bette said. “Pick it up, Bette……..maybe he wants to apoligize for earlier”, Lara said. “That will be the day, Lara”, Bette said loud.

Bette picket it up and answered. By the look on Bettes face expressing, Lara could tell Melvin was saying something nice to his daughter, because Bette was smiling.

Bette ended the conversation with Melvin and put the phone down. Bette was looking like she had seen a ghost.

Lara: “You ok, Bette………what did your dad say?”

Bette: “A lot…….but mostly about being rude to Tina and that he was sorry”

Lara: “Are we talking about the same Melvin Porter……father of both Porter girls?”

Bette: “Shut up Lara…….and yes we are……that was a surprice, its not like him to be so nice”

Lara: “Maybe Kit told him a thing or two”

Bette: “I guess youre right”

Lara: “So did you get me some tickets?”

Bette: “Ill pick them up tonight, when I go back to the gallery”

Lara: “Thats why Melvin called…….am I right?…….he wantet you to help out with the show, because you have magic hands, when it comes down to it”

Bette: “Im only doing this to help Kit out, Lara”

Lara: “Year year…..Bette are you sure youre happy doing this for a living……I mean working as a cop?”

Bette: “I love my job, Lara…….you know that…..but its just lately working along with Kit on her last couple of shows, has showen me a hole new world”

Lara: “A world with out any danger?”

Bette: “Maybe……..but I love the action Lara and I wouldnt dream of leaving you…..you know that…..we have been working way to long together for that to happen”

Lara: “Maybe…….but just think about it Bette……I mean, if youre serious about Tina and Charlot……Im sure they wouldnt mind you changing career”

Bette: “Maybe not……..but I wouldnt be happier even if I did change career, Lara…..”

Lara: “year……but think about it Bette”

Bette: “There is no way in ***** Im going to work side by side with my dad, Lara……..you know that……remember when he met you the first time?”

Lara: “OH YES………..lets talk about something else”

Bette turned on her laptop to check her emai. There was an email from John regarding Candace Juwel. As Bette was reading it, her eyes got bigger and bigger. “HOLY *****”, Bette said out loud.

Lara: “What is it, Bette?”

Bette: “It seems like our miss Juwel was trained as a sniper and worked as a pro for a few years………she also has experience with explosiv”

Lara: “Ill call and have her file sent over”

Bette: “Not nessery……..I have it right here……Ill print it out”

Lara: “Why the ***** is she working at a computer company???”

Bette: “I dont know……..maybe because of her background with the military”

Lara: “I guess so…….but what the ***** does that have to do with Tina?”

Bette: “Your guess is as good as mine……..but Tina did tell me, that Candace asked her out a few times……and she turned her down”

Lara: “You think its personal”

Bette: “Maybe…….she knew you and I were in New York and why we were there……Im going to call Tina and see if shes ok”

Bette called Tina, but no answer. Then she tried her cell and still no answer. “Lara, have you spoken to Frank or Dennis over the last couple of hours?”, Bette asked. “NO….not since lunch”, Lara answered.

Bette called Dennis, but no answer. Just voicemail. Then she tried Frank and it was the same.

Bette: “I think something is wrong…….neighter Frank or Dennis is answering. Lara, lets go”

Bette and Lara drove to Tinas appartment. On the way Bette called in for a patrolcar to join them. They finally arrived. Went up to the appartment and into the hall. The first sight that met them was Frank and Dennis laying on the floor in a pile of blood.
