A Deeper Song, post 23
“Name this child.”
“Rowan Kennard Montclair Porter.” Theresa and Shane responded.
“Rowan, I baptize you in the name of the …
The ceremony was simple yet profound. Rowan was twelve weeks old. He was awake and alert for much of the ceremony. His piercing blue eyes, dark brown curly hair, and mocha skin foretold that he would be a heartbreaker.
It was a hard call to make who was more smitten with the young gentleman, his sister, his mothers, his grandparents, or his multitude of aunts of various degrees of relatedness. This baby boy was surrounded by love and loved by all.
Even at this early age his character was asserting itself. He was a happy baby. He rarely cried and was curious about everything that caught his eye. He already had the Porter smile down pat. He was a gentle soul, full of love and light.
It was clear that he had just as strong a bond with Tina as he did with Bette, perhaps even more so. Tina caught him when Bette delivered him. He did not cry. He simply looked at Tina and it was all over. They imprinted like ducks. The piercing blue eyes were a surprise. Bette had not expected them and gasped “Ro” when he first looked at her. She began to cry and Tina would later relate that he was so in tune with his mother he began to cry at seeing her in tears.
Name this child. The words echoed. Naming in this case was difficult. Bette and Tina were in agreement that Rowan needed to know Rosanna’s family, including Theresa. Their first fight after reconciling was over naming this son.
“I’d like to name him Rowan.” Bette announced over breakfast one morning.
“I like that.” Tina immediately responded it was a strong name and just seemed to fit somehow.
“Rowan Montclair” Bette tested the name out loud.
“Rowan Montclair Porter.” Tina amended giving Bette a look.
“Or Porter Montclair.”
“Not.” Tina said bluntly. Her anger was starting to rise. It had killed Tina when Bette married Rosanna. Tina had opted not to go typical heterosexual route when she and Bette were first together and they never married in the traditional sense. She was surprised at how furious it made her that Bette had married and took Rosanna’s name.

I like this story very much and am sad that its going finish soon:(.
K Lived the name you had given to the baby, perfect!!!! and liked how you had Tina wanting to marry Bette and loved thier little spat over the names on the baby and who would take thier last name….can’t wait for the wedding too!!
That was a beautiful chapter. I hate to see this one comming to an end, but I guess it means you can get started on the next one for us right ;).
That was so beautiful. Like the name. All three mothers name. Tina because she will take a stand in place of his Mother, Monclair for his Mom and Porter because he is a porter. thanks
Tina’s shy yes was SO cute. I can just imagine that look. And I love the name! The quarrel between B&T was touching. You can feel the emotion T was feeling, the anger, etc. And Bette’s awe over T wanting marriage. Thanks for this, I love it. ADx
Oh, that was so cute..beautiful and full of perfection and sweetness, and everything that makes you an awesome writer
Great story A pleasure to read. :) Thanks
Another terrific installment. Bringing up the dreaded “Peabody” word was the perfect tactic for Tina to use during their last-name argument.
Oh please, at least another post or two or three or…. twelve or… This story is just too lovely to end.
This has been a wonderful story and I hate to see it end. So happy that Tina mentioned marriage. Will we see Tina formally propose to Bette with plenty of proposal sex. Please let us see them married before you end the story. Please, pretty please.
“How about Rowan Kennard Montclair Porter?” “Did Dr. Wilson say anything about cunnilingus?”. “Lick it harder.” Bette demanded. LOL. I’m also sad that this story will be coming to an end.
I am in awe of how perfectly that was written! “Or Porter Montclair.” “Not.” Tina said bluntly.”………”if I married Helena and asked you to accept the Peabody name?” “Not.” Bette answered with heat…” LOL Like I said, perfectly written! Thanks!
One page but oh so good. More chapters, please and maybe a sequel. I really like when both of them are sensitive alphas. PPS.
This chapter was soooo good. Please let them get married before you end it. Btw, loved the name of the baby. PPS!
Lmao here: It’s not just because I want you to keep writing this particular story and you know that!!!!! I gave you suggestions on why a couple of chapters more would round it up perfectly…and Lmao at the readers comments. We obviously agree on the brilliance of your writing so when u’ve finished this story I’ll be waiting for the next one.All the best for R & R
That was so sweet. Nice way to bring labor on. I think we need some more though you know they’re wedding, honeymoon, etc.
It’s so good that they are talking about it. Tina made a point. And yes there is a huge difference between sexual intercourse and cunnilingus, especially at this stage of pregnancy. Wow you are moving this right along aren’t you K? Thank you so much for writing…I hope you are planning a sequel or another story – I would really miss your great stories.
That was great!
Why do you post when I’m stuck in Ohio and can’t read this until next week. Not fair (as I sneak on at 3 am).
Well this story has been great and I too will be sad to see it come to end … well done and I look forward to the final pots ( hope there is a wedding in the air )
Someone said, long ago, there will be in wedding in S5. It had better be this one. Thanks!
That was brilliant, K, this chapter had a bit of everything, and everything was just right. I know more posts would mean that the end is nigh, but I’m the greedy sort. So… post soon. Thanks
Now that was funny!! That’s a long name for a little guy. I though they had a different doctor than Dr. Wilson?
