    A crush, a meeting then love?? – Chapter 46

“No, my God, how did it happen?” Lara asks almost crying.

    “A heart attack.” Bette replies.

    “How is Tina?” She asks.

“She’s a mess right now, but she’s going to be fine She just got her back you know, it’s not even a months yet.” Bette says.
“Yeah, I know, but I’m glad she got to talk to her before this.” Lara says.

“Me too.” Bette replies. “When is Tee off tomorrow?” Bette asks.

    “You’re playing?” Lara asks surprised.

“Yeah, Tina wanted to go there alone, she told me to play.” Bette says. “I did wanted to come with her, but  she had made up her mind. How well I’ll play is another issue. I’m thinking about her all the time. I want to be there for her. I don’t feel like playing golf right now.” Bette confesses to Lara.

“Then you won’t.” Lara says. “If your heart’s not in it, don’t play. You have proved that you are good enough for this game. They will give you another chance. I’ll talk to the big guys and tell them what happened.” Lara suggests.

“I don’t know. I told Tina’s boss that I would take care of Jessie, Tina’s intern, she’s suppose to take pictures.” Bette says.

“I can help her. You need to be with Tina.” Lara says.

“I owe you so much Lara.” Bette says.

“You don’t owe me anything. Just go be with your wife to be, hold her, she’s gonna need it.” Lara says.

“Thank you Lara.” Bette says. “Jessie stays at this hotel in room 324. She’s 17 years old, she’s a really nice kid. Please take care of her. She has a plane home on Sunday night. She has the ticket herself.” Bette says.

“Don’t worry. I’ll head over there now to meet her.” Lara says.

“Okay, I’ll go down and say goodbye to her.” Bette says. They hang up.

Bette packs her suitcase and Tina’s last stuff. She locks the room and takes the elevator down to the 3rd floor. She knocks on Jessie’s room. Jessie opens.

“Hi, Bette, come in.” Jessie says, then she sees the suitcases. “Are you leaving?” She asks.

“Yes, Jessie I am. I realized that I won’t be able to play, when I know that Tina is miles away hurting. I need to be with her.” Bette says.

    “I agree.” Jessie says.

“My trainer, Lara Perkins, will come over later, she’ll be your intern this weekend. She’ll help you with everything. But she doesn’t know how to take pictures, so that you have to do.” Bette says and smiles.

    “Okay.” Jessie replies.

“I know that this weekend didn’t turn out the way you expected it to but. It’s life, things come up. I’m sure you will do a great job.” Bette says ands smiles.

They say their goodbyes and Bette is off to the airport.

She buys a ticket on the first plane out, which is only 30 minutes ahead.

She checks in, goes through security and walks over to the gate, gate 18 and waits for the boarding to begin. She calls Lauren.

“Hey, Lauren, is Tina with you?” Bette asks.

“Not right now, she’s with Sarah. Why?” Lauren asks.

“I’m waiting for a plane, I’m coming down there. Please don’t tell Tina. I don’t want her to be mad at me. Maybe if she sees me as a surprise, she realizes that she needs me there.” Bette says.

“I think she does. She’s acting strong, but she’s not.” Lauren says.

“Yeah I’ll be there in a few hours. Where are you located? Your house?” Bette asks.

    “Yes.” Lauren replies.

“Okay, I’ll see you soon.” Bette says and hangs up. Then the boarding begins.

    1. That’s my Bette, go and stand by your woman’s side. Tina’ father may not like it, but this is about Tina, not him. Everyone deals with grief and different ways and as Bette told Tina “IT is her job to be there for here”. If Tina’s father should be happy that his daughter has someine who will put aside any and everything to be there for her. He may not realize or admit it now, but he will later that that is what any parent wants for thier child. GOOD choice Bette–YOU GO GIRL.
