“They, did? That’s great.” Lauren says. She then calls out to Chris, Bette hears t in the background. “Chris, come here. (“what” he asks.) Bette’s on the phone, Tina’s been in surgery. (“What? Is she okay?” He asks.) Yeah, she’s fine, they got it all.” Lauren says. (“They did, that’s great.” He replies.) “Yeah, Bette, tell her that we’re thinking about her, and that this is great.” Lauren says.

“I will, she’ll still have to take chemo, just to make sure, but they believe she’ll be fine.” Bette says and smiles.

“That’s absolutely great. Give her our love.” Lauren says.

“I will, would you mind telling Jack?” Bette asks.

“Off course not, We’ll head over there right away.” Lauren says.

“Thanks, I’ll talk to you soon, bye.”

“Bye” Lauren says and they hang up.

Bette then moves on to call Alice and Shane, they are ecstatic about the great news.

By the time she’s off the phone, the 40 minutes has passed. A nurse comes in to get her ad guides her into a room. It’s empty.

“Ms. Kennard Porter is on her way down. You can just wait here.” The nurse says and leaves. Minutes later Tina is wheeled into the room. She’s still asleep.

“She’ll wake up any minute now.” The nurse says and smiles. She hooks Tina up to the IV and then leaves.

Bette walks over to the bed and takes a seat carefully on the side. She lifts Tina’s hand in her and softly starts to rub it. Tears of joy fall freely. After a few minutes Tina slowly opens her eyes. The first thing she sees is Bette’s teary eyes, she starts to breath heavy. Bette moves her hand on top of Tina’s breast.

“Baby, calm down, these are tears of happiness.” Bette says and wipes them away. “Baby, they got it all.” Bette says and smiles down on Tina, who isn’t sure if she heard Bette.

“Got it all?” Tina asks.

“Yeah, they got the tumour. And you still have your ovary. Baby, you are going to be fine.” Bette says as she keeps smiling.

Tina starts to cry, she can’t believe it.

“I am?” She asks after a few moments.

“Yeah, you are.” Bette says and leans down and places a soft kiss on Tina’s lips.

Tina pulls Bette into a hug. She can’t stop crying. After a few minutes of hugging, Dr. Mitchell enters the room.

“Hello ladies.” He says, they break up the hug.

“Hi.” Tina says.
“So how are you feeling?” He asks.

“I’m good. So you really got it all?” She asks.

“Yes, we got the tumour. You will still have to take chemo, to make sure we kill all the cancer cells that are located in the area. You will get the first dose in three days. It will give a little time to recover from the surgery.” Dr. Mitchell says.

“Okay. Thank you doctor.” Tina says as tears are still running down her face.

“Oh it’s my pleasure.” Dr. Mitchell says and smiles.

“Can I sit up a bit?” Tina asks.

“Maybe a little, but all the way up, it will pressure the wound.” Dr. Mitchell says.

“Oh okay.” Tina says.

“But a little bit up, won’t hurt.” He says and smiles.

“Thank you.” Tina says.

He leaves the room again.

Bette helps Tina to sit up a little bit.

Tina looks into Bette’s eyes.

“I’m really going to be okay, aren’t I?” She asks.

“Yeah, baby, you are.” Bette says and leans in for a kiss. “I love you.” She adds.

“I love you too.” Tina replies and steals another kiss.
