Chapter 124 Bette and Tina arrives at the hospital a little before 4:30, they went up to the 5th floor to get Tina signed in for the surgery. And just as the clock turns 4:30 Dr. Mitchell enters. “Hey, Tina. Are you ready?” Dr. Mitchell asks. “Yeah, as ready as I can be, I guess.” Tina replies. “Why don’t you say bye to Bette for a few hours. You will be out of surgery around 8 tonight.” Dr. Mitchell says. “Oh” Tina says and turns to Bette. Bette put her arms around Tina’s waist. Dr. Mitchell takes a few steps back to give them some privacy. “I don’t want to go in there alone.” Tina says. “And I don’t want to leave you here. But I know that you will be okay. After the surgery, the cancer will be gone. I’m sure of it.” Bette says and leans in for a kiss. “You really think so?” Tina asks silently. “Yeah, I know so.” Bette whispers back. Dr. Mitchell looks at them and smiles. “I love you. I’ll be here when you wake up.” Bette says. “I love you too. I’ll be okay. Why don’t you head over to the club or something.” Tina suggests. “I don’t want to leave you here. I’ll stay put.” Bette says. “No, I don’t want you to just sit here and wait, go get out and put some new thoughts into your head.” Tina says. “Baby, all I’ll be thinking about is you and how you’re doing in here.” Bette says. “I know, but at least try, please.” Tina pleads. “Okay, for you.” Bette says and leans in for a tender kiss. “I love you, see you in a few hours.” Tina says. “I love you too.” Bette says and kisses her once more. Tina follows Dr. Mitchell, she glances back and waves. Bette mouths ‘I love you’ before she leaves. She drives over to the club, she will get there about 40 minutes before the practise is over. Three hours later: Tina is in surgery, Dr. Mitchell is performing the surgery. “There, I think we got it all.” Dr. Mitchell says. “Good, she’ll be okay.” A nurse says.
