Chapter 5

Standing in front of her mirror with a blank expression, Ashley looks upon her reflection studying the outfit she’s wearing wondering if to change, stay the same or add to her outfit.
She moves over to her desk picking up the iPod she goes through the songs, finally deciding on one to listen to, Boyz II Men starts blaring through her speakers. She may be the daughter of legendary rocker Raife Davies but Ashley knows that to really love music you have to appreciate all genres, her dad told her that when she was little.
Flopping herself on the bed letting the soulful melody of End of the road wash over her she didn’t notice her dad walk into the room, leaning against the wall he doesn’t say a word, he just stands there with his eyes closed listening to the music play.

Ashley sits up letting out a frustrated sigh, looking to her right she notices her dad in the room “Dad ya know parents usually say something when they come into their kids room lol”, Raife opens his eyes and smiles loving at his beautiful daughter. He walks over to her bed sitting beside her, putting an arm around her he speaks softly to her “You nervous at seeing Spencer?” knowing Ashley the way he does he knows she’s nervous about seeing the blond.
Looking at Raife she gives a weak smile only to drop her head, she feels foolish about being this way about someone she doesn’t even know if she has a chance with, scared that she somehow could do something to make the blond goddess hate her. “What If all I’m doing is a waste of time, what if she’s only being nice cause of Kyla and her brothers?”
“Hey don’t think that ever, sweetie you are amazing on so many levels you have everything any one could want…If she can’t see that then she’s stupid!”
“Your just saying that cause your my dad” she says defeated, “your right I am saying it cause I’m your dad, someone who has known you your entire life knows everything about you and knows just how special you are” he says proudly to her, after a second she looks up to her father and hugs him “Thank you Dad, I Love you” smiling into the embrace he says “I Love you too” back to his daughter. There’s a knock at the door and then Aiden and Kyla Walk in “why wasn’t I invited to this father daughter moment?” Kyla says jokingly to her father and sister, they all laugh at the comment, Ashley and her father pull apart and gives her a kiss on her head, as he goes to leave the room he kisses Kyla on top of the head also and lets them know that he and Christine will be going to dinner and won’t be back till late.
