Paula still hadn’t noticed the small frame that was pushed into her sofa.  Kasey suddenly decided to pop up as Spencer’s mother stumbled backward with a gasp.  “Dear Lord!”
 

“Oops, sorry Mrs Carlin.  Didn’t mean to scare you.”  Paula sighed and shook her head at the girl.  “It’s fine but why must you be so quiet?”  The brunette simply shrugged.   Spencer giggled at the childlike smile that had played itself across Kasey’s lips.  Only she could transform any unwanted serious moment into a fun one with such ease.
 

“Annnyyyway, we have to go.  I’m having dinner with them tonight mom.  So I won’t be back until later.  Ok?”  She motioned toward the cousins.
 

“Sure sweetie, have fun.”   And with that said Paula vanished into the kitchen.  Spencer was shocked by the no strings attached policy.  Usually her mother would have given her a speech about being home on time, never leaving your drink unattended, and things of such nature.

“To Ashley’s we go!”  Spencer hopped up and towards her front door.  The cousins followed closely, making their way to Kasey’s truck.

The teens had all arrived at the Davies mansion and were awaiting the arrival of their pizza.  Spencer, Kasey, and Aiden were nervous and had difficulty containing their curiosity.

“So..”  Kasey tried to be casual but knew she wasn’t going to get an answer to her question.  “What kind of costumes did you girls pick out?”  Aiden and Spencer listened attentively hoping they would reveal their choices.

“Sorry K, we can’t tell you that until it’s time to change.”  Madison eyed Ashley and Kyla who could hardly contain their giggles.  This was definitly not a good sign.

“Aww c’mon babe, you have to tell us.  At least tell us it’s nothing embarassing.”  Aiden begged.

“Sorry, I’m not saying anything.”  Madison added.  This is definitly not what the threesome wanted to hear.

The pizza finally arrived a few minutes later.  The teens didn’t hesitate to gobble up their meal and within thirty minutes were ready to prepare for the dance.  It was nearing seven o’clock and the group wanted to be at the dance by eight.  If the costumes were embarassing there was no way any of them could refuse to wear it seeing as how it was too late to go pick out a new one.  Such was the plan of course.
