“No we are not-!” Kasey stopped herself and slumped forward. “I’m not gonna win am I?” She asked.
“No, we’ve been through this dozens of times…Let’s take someone else’s car blah blah blah…” Aiden rambled placing his duffel bags in her Avalanche. Kasey eyed him in defeat.
“Fine.” She huffed..
Their annual camping trip had been delayed because of Kasey’s illness. Now that her health was progressing quite well the group had decided to spend the chilly December weekend by the lake. As they had last year, the over zealous teens were taking Kasey’s Avalanche; a disheartening fact to the young brunette.
“Hey guys!” Kyla dropped her belongings and pounced into Kasey’s arms. She pummelled the girl with butterfly kisses from her neck up to her lips.
“Why hello there beautiful.” Kasey managed to speak in between kisses.
“Just in time, we’re almost set.” Aiden smiled as Ashley walked up the driveway hand-in-hand with Spencer.
“Uhm..What’s with the boat?” Ashley tapped the large 17 foot fibreglass body sitting on the large trailer.
“We’re going fishin’” Kasey smiled, peeking over Kyla’s shoulder.
“Ew, please don’t tell me you expect me to put on my own bait and actually touch a fish do you?” Madison grinned broadly from behind Aiden as she wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed the back of his neck.
“Nope, I’ll do that for ya babe.” He replied, spinning around and scooping her up into his arms.
Spencer glanced at Ashley hoping for the same sentence to leave her lips. “Ha, right. Sorry Spence, the bush babies over there will do that for us. Sorry.” Ashley motioned toward Kasey and Aiden.
“Hey Aid, where’d you put the live bait anyway?” Kasey yelled after her cousin. She propped Kyla up on the tailgate where the brunette sat proudly admiring her girlfriend’s physique. Kasey has taken upon herself to regain the weight she had lost and her hair was nearly as long as it used to be before the chemo.
“Check the deck’s storage. Make sure we’ve got the trolling motor and rods, I’m not sure if I put it all in the boat or not before we left your place.” Kasey climbed up the side of the vessel and hopped in.

Funny and sweet. I love this story. The first ‘I love you’. Wow that has to be amazing. Can’t say I’ve been there yet, but I admire the willingness of Spen and Ash to wait until they really mean it. Twas so sweet! Please PMS!
