    “My boyfriend cheats on me, I hate my friends, The only reason I do anything is so it will go on my transcript, to get into that perfect college. Problem is I don’t even know what I want to do with my life passed getting accepted. All I know is that I want to get as far from here as possible.”

     

    The brown eyed girl simply shrugged, “Same thing, just different places, different girls” she replied unfazed

     

    “And your friends?”

     

    “Oh ya know”

     

    “Clearly I don’t” the blonde pushed

     

    “I’m sure everything you can come up with to describe them is pretty accurate” the brunette replied

     

    Spencer nodded her head thoughtfully, “Self centered, ignorant morons who say they hate drama but thrive on creating it”

     

    “Don’t forget fake, although I guess they’re no better than me” Ashley added with a hint of a chuckle

     

    “I don’t get it, I don’t get…you”

     

    “Join the club”

     

    Spencer continued to stare at the girl across from her waiting for her to continue, “I just, told myself that it was easier if I didn’t think about it all. Pretend I live the perfect life that people believe I do”

     

    “Why can’t you?”

     

    “It’s not that simple…”

     

    Spencer cut her off too worked up to notice “Sure it is, all of these things can be replaced, your friends, your boyfriend. You don’t have to please people, just be yourself”

     

    “It’s not that simple because I don’t remember who I am…or was…anymore” she replied using her words wisely

     

    Spencer flinched a bit and looked down, “Well it seems to me like you’ve just given up, haven’t even tried to be happy”

     

    Ashley was quiet after that, instead of firing back at the blonde with attitude or an insult she just let her words levitate in the air. A few minutes of silence passed by, so silent that Spencer considered taking out her book until it passed, she could see Ashley was deep in thought, having a mental fight with herself.

     

    “What’s it like?” Ashley’s voice suddenly spoke up

     

    “What is what like?” Spencer asked having no idea what the brunette was referring to

     

    “Not caring what other people think of you”

     

    Spencer laughed a bit, “Who said I didn’t care?”

     

    “Oh, well…it’s just, it seems like you don’t” she replied unsure of herself, regretting her stupid question

     

    “I care, I try not to let it get to me but it does”

     

    “What does?” the brunette asked, her interest suddenly sparking

    2. you’re so a brat! I can’t believe you didn’t tell me! You’re lucky that I really like this story. and I’m so glad that Ashley is dealing with things, hopefully she’ll start making some changes. And I can’t believe Spencer huged her…that was really sweet. And I have to agree with SoNFANFOREVER, the mets don’t just suck, they blow too!

    5. Another brilliant chapter…*sigh* I love your stories! So as I know nothing about sport and couldn’t tell you if the Mets were a basket, baseball or football team (forgive me I’m English!) I’m just going to ask for more …I want to know what’s in the box too!! Oh and a sequel to Heartless!?!? I’m doing my happy dance :0)
