    It’s time for Ashley’s baby

    “Relax. If Ashley is going into labor they wont let you in the room without a hair net and all that good stuff. I’m just getting you ready.”

    Spencer sighed in relief as her mother began pulling random items off the shelves. Paula helped the younger blonde get dressed.

    “I feel silly in this.”

    “You have to wear it if you want to be in there with your wife.”

    “Thanks for helping me.”

    “It’s what mothers are for.”

    The rest of the trip was made in silence. Spencer watched the floor as each tile passed by. She was still a little out of it, but she needed to be with Ashley. She would never forgive herself if she wasn’t there for the love of her life. Spencer looked up when she realized Paula was pushing her into a room. The doctor turned his head in the direction of the door and gave a dirty look. He was about to ask the intruders to leave, but Ashley’s voice filled the room instead.

    “SPENCER!”

    “Ashley…”

    Ashley started screaming as she allowed her head to fall back against the pillow. The doctor turned his head in Spencer’s direction once again.

    “Who are you?”

    Once again Ashley’s voice filled the room before anyone else could speak.

    “SHE IS MY WIFE AND I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON’T LET HER IN HERE I’LL RIP YOU TO PIECES ONCE THIS IS OUT OF ME!”

    By now the doctor was used to death threats by women that were in labor. He shrugged it off and allowed Spencer to be wheeled to Ashley’s bed side. Spencer immediately grabbed Ashley’s hand and both girls looked deeply into each others eyes. Spencer now knew how Ashley felt. She hated seeing her wife in so much pain. She had never once seen this look on Ashley’s face before.

    Giving birth was going a lot faster for Ashley than it did for Spencer. Her water had been broken for an hour and already she was having to push her baby out.

    “SPENCER! I’M GOING TO KILL DOMINIC. This hurts sooo bad! I don‘t see how you did this for so long.”

    “I know love, but you are doing great. Just keep pushing.”

    “I want it out NOW!”

    “Were working on that. Just push, baby.”

    Ashley was nearly squeezing the life out of Spencer’s hand, but Spencer didn’t mind. She knew exactly how much pain her wife was in. At that point Spencer was still in pain from her delivery, but in the end it is worth it to hold that beautiful little baby in her arms.

    Thirty minutes and a lot of curse words later the doctors were scooping away the baby and cleaning her off. Ashley tried to stay awake long enough to hold her daughter, but it was too much for her body. All she got to see of her daughter was her blonde hair and those bright blue eyes before she was out cold.
