I met with my lawyer and we entered the courtroom together. I’m not exactly sure why there were so many people in there. I wish Spencer was one of them. I wouldn’t be so nervous if I had her behind me. My knees were bouncing as I nervously awaited the trial.

I scanned the room and took in all the faces. There was nothing else to do beside listen to my lawyer, but she wasn’t saying anything different. My heart nearly stopped when I saw Contessa sitting on the other side of the court room behind Jasper. She smiled evilly at me and began talking to him as if they were life long friends. How does it surprise me that all the scum in my life seem to stick together. Throw my mother in with them and they have one big happy family.

I pulled out my phone and began to text Spencer. I told her who was in the room with me and she wasn’t one bit happy. It was shady business. What are the chances those two knew each other? This couldn’t be good for me.

I put my phone away as the judge entered the room and everything started. The lawyers did their opening statements and all that other technical stuff. Now Jasper’s balding, large bellied lawyer was walking around in an expensive looking suit trying to make me look bad.

He was droning on about how I signed the contract and I ran out on it. I was warned to get back in time for the show, but I didn’t. Blah, blah he was just stating the obvious. I honestly didn’t think I had a chance to win this. I just wanted to pay my fine and finish my life in peace.

Next it was my turn to be questioned. I moved to the stand and took my place. I was basically asked "Did you breach your contract?" "Were you warned to come back?" "Why did you do it?" All the normal questions. Though they were more sophistically worded.

I told them yes I broke it and yes I was warned to come back. I told them I tried to, but there were no flights that would get me back in time. As for why I figured I had nothing to lose, So I looked Contessa right in the eye and told the truth.
