I started rubbing Spencer’s arms and I smiled up at her.

Kyla: “You guys are just too damned cute. It’s killing me.”

We all laughed at my sister and climbed off my bed to leave.

Spencer’s Pov

Ashley stopped her car in the street right in front of my house. Since my family already knew I was with her I didn’t care to hide it and I leaned across the seat to give her a hug and a kiss. I tried to make the kiss last as long as I could, but I knew I needed to go inside. I slowly opened my door and got out of the car. I left the door open, so Kyla could get in the front seat. I stood outside of my house and watched them drive away. I took comfort knowing they would be close by if I needed them. I’m glad Ashley takes such great care of me.

I walked over to my front door and I slowly opened it. I saw my parents both sitting on the sofa in the living room. Their backs were turned to me, so I took a few moments to prepare myself. I inhaled deeply and slowly let it out. I walked past them into the living room and I sat down in the chair across from the couch. There was an awkward silence. It seemed like no one knew what to say. It didn’t last too long before I heard the screech of my mothers voice.

Paula: “Spencer, what on earth has gotten in to you?”
Arthur: “Paula, calm down.”
Paula: “You want ME to calm down when our daughter gets caught doing THAT in a public place with another girl? And then she thinks it’s ok to run away and keep me worried all night long. Couldn’t even

return our calls and texts. And to top it off she skipped school today.”
Arthur: “Relax Paula. She did return a text. She told me where she was and that she was ok. And she was with me today. I wouldn’t consider that skipping school.”
Paula: “Why didn’t you tell me any of that? Since when do you keep things from me?”
Spencer: “This is all my fault. I don’t want you guys fighting.”
Paula: “That’s enough from you.”
