Paula’s Pov

Right as I got out of the car my cell went off. I got called in to work, so I didn’t even get to run inside to see my husband. That’s one of the “joys” of being a doctor. You never know when you might get called in to work. You just have to drop everything and go immediately. So, here I am facing LA traffic once again and I’m headed to the hospital.

Ashley’s Pov

Spencer’s dad paid the Chinese delivery guy and we took our food. We didn’t talk about any of the drama. We just sat around and filled her dad in on the Christmas trip. He wanted to know all of the details and I was excited to tell him. I am so relieved he still wants Spencer to go. I didn’t want to kidnap her AGAIN, but I was prepared to do so if necessary.

We finished up our lunch and we said goodbye to her dad.

Spencer: “I am so relieved.”
Ashley: “ I know! I’m just excited for you. Your dad is great.”
Spencer: “I don’t know what I would do without him. Wish my mom would be that easy.”
Ashley: “At least you have your dad… oh, I have to go pick up Kyla soon. Want to go with me or do you want to go home?”
Spencer: “I am sooo not going home unless my dad is there.”
Ashley: “I thought you might say that.”

I grabbed Spencer’s hand and drove off towards the school.

When we got there Kyla was waiting outside, sitting on the steps. I stopped the car in front of her and she smiled as she walked over to us.

Kyla: “So, you lovers just decided to skip today?”
Spencer: “Not exactly.”
Kyla: “Well, it must have been good for miss good goody to skip.”
Spencer: “Hey, I am not a goody goody.”
Ashley: “Oh, you SO are.”

Spencer looked and me and did her cute pouty face.

Ashley: “But I love you for being such a goody, goody. It makes you who you are. I need someone who will keep me calmed down.”
Kyla: “So, is anyone going to fill me in on your little skip day?”
Ashley: “Spencer and I got caught… in a dressing room at the mall.”
Kyla: “So?”
Ashley: “So we were doing…. A little more than trying on clothes.”
Spencer: “More like ripping them off.”
Kyla: “OOOOH! So what happened?”
Ashley: “They called dad, but there was of course no answer, so they let me go. They then called Spencer’s house and her mom answered.”
