    “You don’t take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.”

    Ashley’s forehead creased as she concentrated on the menu, “Hmmm…I’ll take two burgers…well done…all the way…hey are those onion rings?” Spencer tugged at Ashley’s arm, “Ash, I don’t think I want a burger, I’ll just get a chicken salad.” Ashley nodded as she continued her order, “Yeah, so onion rings…and I’ll take one of those puddings…oh and a chicken salad.” Spencer smiled at Ashley, shaking her head, “Ash, there’s no way that you’ll be able to eat all of that!” Ashley looked over at Spencer suddenly remembering her order and waved to get the cook’s attention again, “Um could I get one more of those salads, please?”

    Arthur looked up grinning as he saw Chelsea, Clay and Spencer heading towards the table. He stood and hugged Spencer and then Clay, as he warmly greeted Chelsea, “Hey thanks for coming.” He looked around, confused, “Hey Spence, where’s Ash?” Spencer sighed, “She ran out of room on this tray for all of her food, so she had to go back to the beginning of the line to grab another one.” Arthur’s eyebrows arched as he looked at the tray Spencer was holding, “Hmm…I guess you guys are really hungry.” Spencer smiled, “Not really, I ordered a chicken salad. The rest of this stuff is for Ashley.” Arthur laughed, shaking his head as he watched Ashley approach with another tray, “Hey Mr. C!”. Ashley looked particularly proud of herself as she managed to get the loaded tray on the table without spilling anything. They watched as Ashley took a small soup bowl filled with white liquid and placed it next to the first tray. Spencer wrinkled her nose, “Ash, what is that?” Ashley licked her lips, clapping happily, “RANCH DRESSING! They have a whole bucket over there on the salad bar!” Ashley took a giant bite from her first burger, moaning and closing her eyes as she chewed. Spencer watched as she dipped her burger into the bowl of dressing and took another bite humming happily.

    “Hey Guys!”, They all looked up as Aiden called out and waved to everyone. Glen was right behind him, moving slowly but steadily on his crutches towards the table. Clay started clapping and soon they all joined in as Glen finally made it to the table. Arthur hugged Glen tightly, “Way to go son, I’m so proud of you.” Glen smiled up at his father, “Well I’m out for the first time in over a week! Let me tell you it feels wonderful!” Glen grinned, “But maybe next time we can go somewhere outside of the hospital?”

Im glad you are giving us the Mashley backstory, something I wish they would do in the actual show. I really hope you update soon.
