After the little scuffle at lunch I didn’t see Ashley until school let out. I was walking out to Aidan’s car (I let him drive because he feels important) and saw Ashley leaning against a very nice black Porsche.

Spencer: “Is that your car?”

Ashley: “Yeah it is. I have expensive tastes.” She laughed and I smiled at her. I really liked her laugh. And the way her nose crinkled up when she smiled at me. And the way her bangs would fall in her eyes and she would push them away. And the…yeah I think you get the picture. I liked everything I saw about this girl.

Spencer: “Well expensive is good. So do you want to hit up Ego with us tonight?” Please say yes, please say yes.

Ashley hesitated for a moment and looked over my shoulder at Madison and Aidan walking out of school. They were practically undressing each other.

Spencer: “I promise they aren’t always so disgusting. Besides, it’s really fun.” I smiled at her hoping I didn’t sound too desperate to get to know her better. I wasn’t even sure that she would be into girls. I wasn’t really worried about that though, I wanted to be this girls friend even if she didn’t like girls.

Ashley: “Okay, I’ll come. Only if you promise to keep me occupied though.” She said as she got into her car. Was that flirting? I think that was flirting. Score one for Carlin! I was smiling like an idiot as I walked towards Aidan’s car.

Ashley: “Spencer, you should probably get my number so you can text me where Ego is.” Okay my score is back down to zero for stupidity. But then an idea popped in my smart little head.

Spencer: “Why don’t I just pick you up?” And again cue the nervousness.

Ashley: “That would be great. Let me see your phone and I’ll put my number in.” I handed her my phone and she added her number then called her phone so she would have mine. “I’ll text you directions to my house.” She said smiling, then she drove off before I could comprehend the conversation.

I just got a date with Ashley! I just got a date with Ashley! Okay well not exactly because I’m only picking her up and we’re going out with all my friends but still she wanted me to pick her up so that’s totally got to count for something! I was still doing my mental happy dance when I got home. The whole way home Aidan kept looking at me and laughing. I guess my mental happy dance seeped out a little. But who can blame me? I’m going to the club with Ashley!
