To Spashley With Love – (Chapter: Chapter Twenty-Four)
“Why don’t you straighten your hair anymore?” I questioned with curiosity.
“Nope, never again,” responded Ashley with a chuckle.
“Not even for an hour?” I said making a sad face.
“You know that I can’t say no to that face,” whined Ashley.
“Why else do you think I do the face?” I asked amused.
“I don’t know since you know it’s my demise other than your eyes,” answered Ashley.
“I sometimes wonder if my Dad moved Glen and me out here last year, if you would’ve noticed me.” I questioned with curiosity.
“Of course I would have noticed you,” responded Ashley with a smile. You’re the girl who I can always tell out of a crowd and that won’t ever change.
“Why did you try to keep on calling me for?” I asked.
“I was a girl of my word and I just needed to hear your voice,” answered Ashley. I hadn’t seen you in King High for weeks and I really missed you. I needed to also make sure you were alright after everything that happened between us.
“Nothing’s changed, right?” I asked with a sigh. Ashley looked at me and seemed as though as she was going to lean into kiss me, but Kyla and Aiden entered the apartment and Ashley pulled back.
“Hey, look whose back,” said Aiden. Are you back in Ashley’s life for good or what? She’s bringing Kyla and me down.
“Let’s give them their space to talk, Aide,” replied Kyla. By the way, it’s good to see you, Spencer. My sister’s unbelievably lost without you.
“Kyla!” Ashley said.
“Well, it is true, little sis,” replied Kyla.
“It’s good to see you, too,” I stated. Kyla and Aiden left the living room. So is it true what Kyla said, Ash?
“Yes, it is true,” admitted Ashley. I am really lost without you, babe. I’m sorry I let Christine get to me the other day, Spence. I can’t help but wonder if she’s right though and I am exactly like her and daddy dearest. I don’t want my child to resent me as much as she resents her. I don’t want to wind up reverting to my old ways.
“You won’t wind up like Christine or Raife, I promise,” I responded as I took her hand in my own. Your child will love you so much that you wouldn’t know what to do with. You are nothing like your parents. You made an effort to become a better person, but Christine… not so much. As for reverting to your old ways, your past was only part of who you are. It isn’t who you really are and it will only help you be who you want to be for the future.
“Thanks,” said Ashley. When I was with you, I was the girl that I wanted to be. I thought this breakup was what the best thing to do at the time, but it really wasn’t. It was stupid of me to push you away. I really need you in my life and not just as a best friend.
“I know what you mean,” I replied with a sigh.
“So does that mean that I will be the luckiest girl in the world and you will be my girlfriend again, Spencer Carlin?” asked Ashley with hopefulness in her voice. I leaned in and kissed Ashley passionately on her lips. Ashley smiled and returned the kiss with equal passion. I stopped the kiss.
“Yes, that means I will be your girlfriend again,” I answered with a smile.
