The Wheels That Keep Turning – (Chapter: Chapter 2)

“Hey.” She grins when she sees me and walks over. Toni smiles at Spencer and the unidentified male and retreat back to her desk.

“Sup sexy.” I grin. Spencer smiles shyly at me and quickly looks at the guy beside her before looking at me again.  “I wanted to see if I could tag alone to lunch with you?” I make puppy dog eyes.

“Um…I can’t today.” She taps her foot a little and looks at the guys beside her. “I already have plans…maybe we can do lunch tomorrow?”

    “Sure…we…”

“Um sorry, but Spence?” I get off by the unidentified male standing by my girl. “Tomorrow we’re going to the game.” He smiles innocently at me.

    “Right.” Spencer bits her lip.

“I just didn’t want you to…you know?” He trails off. Fuck…this day is sucking pretty hard.

    “Right.” Spencer repeats.

“Times ticking,” The lame states, after a minute of silence between the three of us. “We should be going.” He grins at Spencer. I should so run over his foot right now.

“I’ll call you tonight.” Spencer says and I nod.

“Yup.” I watch her walk away with the jackass.

“Hey beautiful?” I answer the phone knowing Spencer is on the other end.

    “Hey crazy.”  She laughs.

    “How was your date?”

“It wasn’t a date. It was lunch.”

“It was a lunch date.” I roll into the living room and park beside the couch. “Even if you didn’t think it was, your friend sure thought it was.”

    “Okay…whatever…let’s talk about something else.”

“You should come over.”I take a chance.

“What?” She asks, caught off guard.

“We can watch TV. Grey’s Anatomy is all new tonight. Usually Toni and I watch it together and comment on different scenes and stuff, but she’s out and about tonight.” I try to reason. “So I’m inviting you to watch one of my favorite shows with me.”

“I’ve never even watched that show before.” I gasp in the phone. “I don’t really watch TV.”

“Well, I’ll get you caught up. Come over.”After about ten minutes of convincing, Spencer agrees to come over to my apartment to watch TV.

When Spencer gets here I take her on a little tour of my apartment. After the tour we go to the living room and Spencer sits on the couch while I roll up next to it.
