    Temporal days

    His sharp inhalation caused her heart to break. Tiny pieces floated inside her, piercing other organs. He sat down in slow motion, arms trailing down to her waist as he settled on the bed. Aiden’s low sob wracked his body. He pushed his head against her stomach, pleading, “Please…I can’t…I…” Ashley held him closer, choking, “I love you. Nothing will ever change that. I can never repay what you did for me…every time I needed…anything…you were always there. You saved me you know…so many times…you saved me.” She stroked his bare back, letting her fingertips run lightly along his soft, flushed skin. His anguished gaze was too painful to meet for long. Flinching, her entire body stiffened when the sunglasses were suddenly lifted from her face.

    No, not "baby" anymore, if I need you
    I’ll just use your simple name
    Only kisses on the cheek from now on
    And in a little while, we’ll only have to wave

    Her shield gone, she turned away from him, from his eyes, trying desperately to shut herself off from his pain. “I can’t live without you, Ashley….please…” Placing her hands on his shoulders, she pushed him onto his back, moving her body on top of his. Aiden pushed his hands into her hair then slid them down to her cheeks, pushing her head off his chest. He stared at her, eyes constantly moving, scanning, storing every minute detail until finally their eyes met. His longing made her heart ache. Sobbing, she pushed her mouth to his lips, doing the only thing she could to stop his pain. Aiden tried to pull away, but she used her body, pressing down, trapping him, until she felt him rising against her. His hands were suddenly against her waist, pushing her over. Ashley landed on her back, gasping as his weight settled on top of her.

    My hand won’t hold you down no more
    The path is clear to follow through
    I stood too long in the way of the door
    And now I’m giving up on you

    Trousers unzipped, Ashley’s hips lifted automatically as he pulled the loose garment from her body. Quietly he studied her, running his hand lovingly along her newly bared flesh, “You’re so beautiful…” Her hand silenced him, caressing his check before moving to his lips. Opening his mouth, he sucked at her fingers as he slowly entered her body. Aiden’s face hovered above hers. His eyes were squeezed shut against his tears. They fell on her, each drop shining in the fading sunlight before mingling with her own. Wrapping her legs around his waist, Ashley pulled him closer, pressing her lips to his forehead, his nose, his eyelids, his lips. The salty taste of his tears stung, she smiled, welcoming the pain. A fluttering, tightening sensation made her moan. Aiden continued to thrust powerfully, his own end nearing. Ashley’s body took over completely as her mind retreated taking her heart with it.
