The Slayer Chronicles: Episode 1 – (Chapter: 4 – The test)
“Uh…yeah…”
“What’s wrong? You are as white as…well as this thing is.” Kennedy roughly pushes the vamp back down to his knees to gain better control of him.
“I…I…” she stammers, “I can see him!”
“What?!!”
“I can see where he is! There is this reddish glow all around his body. I can’t see what he looks like or anything…but, I see him!” Sasha slowly gets to her feet and walks towards them. She timidly reaches out to touch the vampire. With a growl, the vampire attempts to bite at her hand. Instead of biting her, he is met with a blow from the back of Sasha’s fist. Kennedy re-adjusts her grip on the amazingly strong beast, as Sasha’s eyes appear to travel up and down the vamp’s body. “And I can see his heart…right here!” With this exclamation, Sasha thrusts her stake into the vamp’s chest. In less than a second, the vampire turns to dust.
Kennedy steadies herself from the sudden loss of her burden and smiles at Sasha. “Good instincts.”
“Thanks! This just gets more and more exciting. What else can I do now? Do I have any other Slayer powers?”
“I really don’t know. Everyone is a little different. We’ll just have to wait and see. Want to try again? This time, without me holding one down for ya?” Kennedy jokes.
“Sure…this is starting to be fun!”
Kennedy walks over to retrieve her bag. After looking down at herself and seeing a scraped knee and a large tear in her pants, she spits out, “Damn him! He ruined my jeans! Every fuckin’ time…” She mutters the last part to herself as she shoulders her bag and starts walking the direction they had been headed to begin with. “You comin’?”
“Right behind ya!”
“It’s almost dawn. I thought this place would be crawling with blood suckers.”
“I know, just my luck we would only run into one. Will we have to come back out tonight?”
“I’m not sure. I’ll report to Giles when we get back and we’ll go from there.” While Kennedy talks, the two of them round a corner onto a sparsely lit dead end street and come to a sudden stop.
“Looks like we spoke too soon,” whispers Kennedy.
