The Sky Is Falling – (Chapter: One)
He looked over at Madison who had just hung up the phone and huffed while walking in our direction. "Pay up Mads. She didn’t sleep so I won the bet."
She gave me a look of disdain and then handed him a twenty.
"You’re mother still hates us doesn’t she?"
She was playfully running her fingers through Aidens shaggy hair. "Yeah, she just can’t understand what I see in you two. She claims we’re so opposites and that I’m so much better than you two."
Aiden grimaced at me and pretended he was so heartbroken. "You’re mothers a bitch baby."
"Yeah but I bet she would think differently if she knew I was paying the bills." Madison gave a thankful look and a shrug. "Sorry Mads."
Aiden looked at the black and red Fossil watch I had bought him for Christmas and then shot up off the couch. "Unless you want Mads to drive us we better get going or we are totally going to be late for our first day back."
I grabbed my jacket and then all three of us briskly walked downstairs. We all made sure the doors were locked and then went out into the garage. Madison pushed the garage opener and headed to her car as Aiden and I grabbed our bikes.
Madison picked him up from his house every morning and they both came over here. She had to pick him up so we could ride to school His mom was against the idea of him doing anything that could get him hurt and jeopardize his basketball scholarship. So she had outlawed BMX the second she saw the bike I bought him two years back.
On a morning like this, where we are running late, we each just a pick a side of her car and hold on. The school isn’t that far from my house anyways. Now the funny sight is when she is out of gas or her parents take her car and she has to ride on Aiden’s pegs.

We get to school just as the bell rings but we both have to lock our bikes up so Aiden and I end up being late. To top it off I’m not even sure what class I’m supposed to be in. He runs off to class and I admit defeat and head off to the office to get another copy of my schedule.
I walk in with a smirk and watch as the lady behind the desk immediately frowns upon the sight of me. "Principal already Davies?" I can’t help but chuckle.
"No Kern I just need a copy of my schedule. Madison ate it."
"Just this once Davies. You know I’m not supposed to do this." She opened up my file on the computer and printed out another copy for me to have. "Look Mr. Carver’s 11th grade Literature class. Since you’re heading that way you can take Ms. Carlin with you."
She pointed off to my right at apparently someone who had been sitting there the entire time. I glanced to my right and it took everything I had not let my jaw drop open. She was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen; different than what was around her. She stood up and my eyes scanned down her body and then back up. Beautiful blond hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Davies." I broke my eyes away from the blond. "Take Ms. Carlin with you."
"I can take her home?" I smirked and saw her blush from the corner of my eye. However, Kern wasn’t amused.
"To class Davies. Now."
I leaned my weight against the door opening it and then holding it open for the girl. She walked briskly through and I enjoyed the view before I followed her.
She slowed so she was walking next to me. "My name is Spencer."
"Nice to meet you." I stuck my hand out for her to shake. "I’m D.D."
She smiled shyly and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you DeeDee."
Could she get anymore cute? "No its D.D. like double d."
I caught her as her eyes scanned down my body obviously taking in the fact that I was not called DD for that reason. "Or you can call me Davies."
