The Sky Is Falling – (Chapter: One)

    Monday morning sometime around 7:00am.

I hadn’t slept well at all last night. I was so busy telling myself that I really did need to sleep that I completely forgot to actually sleep. So to both of my friends surprise this lovely Monday morning after spring break I was not only awake but dressed when they arrived.

I had my music blaring through my speakers as I chilled on the couch in my room waiting for them to come upstairs and get me for school. We were all suckers for routine which is also why my lucky red hat was hanging on the door handle to my room.

I aimlessly stared around my room waiting for them mentally noting that it was time to add something to the mix. My room was almost this unnatural shade of blue that was in between sky blue and ocean. I hadn’t painted it since dad chose the colour when I was five but I did add my touch to it in the form of my name, "Ashley" graffiti on the wall. Of the years I had accumulated drums and a piano along with my guitar and this couch and my 62 inch plasma. Needless to say my room was huge.

The door creaked open and I smiled because Aiden had this look of shock plastered on his face. I turned the music off and looked at my friends. He obviously let Madison dress him this morning because all of his clothes were tighter and more form fitting than what he normally wore. She followed him in muttering in Spanish on her cellphone probably to her mother who was chastising her for being friends with us hooligans.

He had his bag over his shoulder and my lucky hat in his hand. "Ash you’re hair!!" He tossed the hat like a frisbee to me and i put it on. Brim forward but off to the left just a little. "Other than that you’re looking smokin’ Ash."

"Ass. I just washed my hair."

"No I know I can see that. I was just referring to the fact that I could actually see it!" He smiled and sat down where my legs were just stretched out. "What are you doing up?"

My nose scrunched up in a smile. "I kinda forgot to sleep last night."
