The College Life – (Chapter: Chapter 7: A Night At Ashley's)

We stayed like that throughout the movie and I can’t honestly say that I really paid attention to the movie as much as I did Ashley and her sleeping attire. We kept exchanging sideways glances at each other and when we locked eyes she would break the stare with a chuckle and the most gorgeous smile I’ve ever seen. My heart would flutter a little more with each time it happened.

When the movie was over, we were positioned leaning against the others shoulder with Ashley’s head on mine and my head resting atop her head. We both yawn and exchange a tired look.

“You ready to get to bed?” She asks as we go back to our neutral positions on opposite sides of the couch.

“Yeah, I’m really tired.” I say as I yawn again.

We both get off the couch and Ashley turns off the T.V. and we head to her bedroom. Once there, we pull the covers back and get settled. Again we end up closing the space between us by rolling onto our stomachs towards each other. Our foreheads are touching and we’re mainly on her pillow. I feel the heat of her breath on my shoulder and it sends shutters down my body. I’ve never felt so comfortable around someone, especially this fast, until I met her. She doesn’t expect anything out of me and I find it really easy to be myself when I’m with her. We fill the room with conversation about her life as a daughter of a rock star.

“So what’s it like being Raife Davies daughter?” I ask as I sit up on my elbow and turn to my side to face her.

“It’s not all glitz and glammer if that’s what you think.” She says as she turns on her back and looks up towards the ceiling. “It’s never been easy for me. Ever since I was little then I’ve either been backstage at his concert or on a tour bus while he’s in a club or where ever living it up with his roadies and band mates. It only got worse as I got older. My mother forbid me to go on the road with him, and after years of doing it I didn’t want to anyway, but that was the only time I got to see my dad so I was bummed that I couldn’t see him as much anymore. When he and my mom split up then we made it a tradition to meet and have dinner together to catch up. He was more like an old friend then an actual father figure.” She finishes, still staring up at the ceiling.
