“Ky… I didn’t know. You know? I was in such a fucked up place. I’m so sorry I wasn’t here for you, for aiden, for everything. I wish I never left, but it was something I had to do, I had to spend time with my mom, Ky. I had to see that she wasn’t the person that we all thought she was. And I couldn’t stay put, I had to bail” Ashley was now crying, realizing that life wasn’t a game and she had to stop living it so selfishly.
“Ash, her brother was shot after you stood her up. So that’s not that bad. Just stay away.. You know for the best.”
“No. I have to go see her, to apologize.” Ashley stood up shaking her head determined
“Ashley..”
“KYLA. NO! Where is she right now? Home.. What school? Where? Please ky!” Ashley begged, starting to cry again, she had to make this right.
“Okay, okay. Uhm, it’s Monday. Aiden says she normally goes to the pier and just sits there. Ashley, I’m asking you not to.” Kyla pleaded one more time.
It was too late, Ashley was half way to the car her mind swollen with thoughts and everything else. It had started to rain, Ashley cursed at it, hoping Spencer was crazy enough to sit in the rain. She had to make it right, and explain herself.
On the way there she couldn’t help herself anymore she needed music… but the thoughts were to overwhelming

“Where’s your mom at? She’s normally here to pick you up.” Ashleys mom was 45 minutes late from picking her up from softball practice.
“I don’t know,” she grunted, “fuck it, I’ll just walk it.” Ashley had chosen to go live with her mother, without her fathers money. She needed to know what her mom was like, she moved in with her freshman year and she was now a junior. Ashley grew to love a life without money, and with her mom. She just loved it. So they didn’t live in a huge house, they had each other now. And maybe her mom really did change.
Ashley decided she’d go pay an old friend a visit at volleyball practice, she sat at the bleachers and waited for the girl to finish. And then her phone rang with a weird number displayed on the phones screen. Against her better judgment, she answered..
“Ashley..” the stranger spoke into the phone
“Yeah? Who’s this?” she answered confused.
“where are you?” she asked annoyed, “ I’ve been waiting for an hour, come pick me up!” she yelled into the phone annoyed
“Ashley, listen to me, I’m in jail.” who knew that one sentence would change her life? Who knew, that something could cause so much pain? She was supposed to be different, and she and Ashley were supposed to prove the world wrong, that they could make it. When did everything get so fucked up?
Ashley popped out of her little flashback at the sight of the pier and the girl standing at the end of it in the rain…
