It ends with everyone lying on the floor, panting.

Ashley: “You guys done with the game.” She asks through shallow breaths.

Julia: “Yep.” She says, just as winded. Lori doesn’t bother speaking, she just nods.

Spencer: “We should watch a movie, what do you guys wanna watch?” I ask, panting along with them.

Julia: “Crossroads!” She shouts.

Ashley: “No.” She says monotone.

Lori: “Duce Bigalow: Male Gigolo?”

Ashley: “No.” She says again in monotone.

Spencer: “A Walk To Remember?” I pout, looking at her.

Ashley: “Ok.” She says and smiles at me. Julia scoffs.

Lori: “Bull. Shit!” She says sitting up.

Julia: “You only let her win ‘cause she’s your girlfriend!”

Ashley: “So.” They roll their eyes as Ashley puts the movie in.

Its dark, the only light is from the TV, and everyone’s quiet as we watch the movie. We’re at the part of the movie where Jamie sings to Landon in the play, when all of a sudden…

Lori jumps up, digging through her purse for the ringing phone. She finally retrieves it before it stops ringing, as everyone watches.

Lori: “Hey Miche.” She says grinning from ear to ear and walking into the kitchen for privacy.

Spencer: “Hey Ash?”

Ashley: “Yeah?”

Spencer: “What ring tone do you have for me?” I ask curiously.

Ashley: “I don’t really need a ring tone for you because we’re always together.”

Spencer: “So you don’t have one for me?” I ask disappointed.

Ashley: “I didn’t say that.” She smiles. “Wait here, I’ll be back.” She kisses my forehead, then disappears up the steps.

Spencer: “What’s your ring tone for Aiden?” I ask Julia as I wait for Ashley to return.

Julia: “Stickwitu.” She says smiling. Ashley returns, handing me my phone. I see she has her phone in her hands.

Ashley: “Call me.” She says. I dial her number and wait a few seconds, then it rings.

I grin and lean in kissing her, she smiles a nose crinkling smile.

Ashley: “So, what’s my ring tone?” She asks.

Spencer: “You and Me, by Lifehouse.” She smiles again, then snuggles up to me and we go back to watching the movie.

ASHLEY’S P.O.V.

The movie ends and everyone’s asleep. Except for me and Lori, she’s still in the kitchen on the phone. I’m not even sleepy. Lori finally comes in, with this dreamy look on her face. She smiles at me, says good night, then lays down in her sleeping bag. The only light, is the light shining in through the blinds. I scoot in closer to Spencer and hear lightly breathing as she sleeps. I kiss her nose and a subtle smile spreads across her face. I lay my head on her chest and fall asleep to the sound of her heart beating.
