"Spencer!" But the girl was already gone. Glen came rushing in.
       "What the hell happened?"
       "She, she ran out."
"I can see that!" Glen spat out. "But why?"
"I don’t know." Ashley played with her hands.
"Well, what’d you say to her?"
"Nothing. She ran out before I could."
"You guys have been in here for 20 minutes and you’re telling me thta you guys didn’t even talk?"
       "She talked."
       "What’d she say?"
"That she loved me and I was breaking her heart. And how it was in the palm of my hands." She turned her hands palm up and stared at them. "I, I never knew, Glen. I’m hurting her. I’ve been hurting her for a fucking year and I never knew. Never." She began to break down and Glen held her.

    Chicks -Glen thought

Meanwhile Spencer was walking down her street to an old abandoned park. Thunder clapped and lightning lit the night sky. Rain came pouring down in think blankets. Spencer brought her hood over her head, wrapped her amrs around her body, and kept walking. She finally reached her destination and climbed up her favorite tree. She situated herself and looked up at the stormy sky. She began to think she made the biggest mistake of her life and it probably costed her the only thing that ever meant anything to her. Ashley.

"Shit!" she cursed herself out loud. "I’m a fucking idiot." she cursed herself for everything ounce of blood flowing through her veins, for every breath she takes, and for every beat of her heart.

       "What should I do, Glen?"
"I don’t know. Let her down easy though, Ashley. Don’t make it worse."
"What makes you think that I don’t feel the same?"
"The fact that you are still here and she ran out."
"I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do. I came over here to tell her how much I really cared about her. How much I really did love her. then I hear her talking to you and then she tells me. Then she leaves. I was stunned. I didn’t think she felt the same way. I gotta find her. I have to explain to her that I feel the same."
"Git-er-dun!" She looked at him weird.
"I’m not even gonna ask." He just laughed and she went out the door. But then she quickly came back. "Yano, what? I have a better idea." She explained her idea and Glen was ecstatic. "So I can count on you?"
       "Hellz yeah."
"Ok, well I gotta go. Remember text me when she gets home and gets up to her room"
       "Gotcha."
       "And, Glen?"
       "Yeah?"
       "Thanks."
       "Aint no thang."

       "Hey Spence"
"I’m going to bed. Night Glen." He didn’y reply, he just kept playing his game. She slowly walked upstairs and into her bedroom. As soon as Glen heard her door shut he pulled out his phone.

    ‘shes here & upstairs.’
    ‘k. mission’s a go.’

It’s about 11:30 and Spencer is just about half-asleep.Suddenly she thinks she herads pebbles against her windows. But then it stops so she just shrugs it off. She closes her eys and it starts again. This time, though, it doesn’t stop. She gets up and walks over to her window. She looks out but she can’t see anything. So she decides to open it up and look down. Ashley is standing there with a single red rose and a sign. Spencer looks harder to read the sign. It says: I love you. Spencer smiles and laughs. She grabs her phone and texts Ashley.

    ‘wat r u doin?’
‘tellin u the truth. u ran out b4 i culd earlier.’
    ‘yea sry bout tht’
‘no big. can i cum up?’
    how?’
    ‘ull c’

Spencer closes her phone and looks down at Ashley. Ashley looks up, smiles, and begins to climb up the side of the house.

"Ashley, you’re going to fall!’ Spencer says is a concerned whisper. Ashley just keeps climbing up. She reaches Spencer’s window and the blonde helps her in. "You could’ve killed yourself." Ashley shrugs.
"I had to explain to you." Spencer opened her mouth to talk but Ashley covered it with a hand. "Just listen, okay?" Spencer nods and Ashley retracts her hand. "Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed how strongly I feel for you. I’ve felt it all in the past but I mistook it for a very strong friendship. But it was and still is so much more. I’ve always loved you. I just recently understood how much." Ashley pulls a marker out of her back pocket and grabs Spencer’s right hand. "Spencer Carlin," She turns it palm up and draws a heart on it. "You have my heart in the palm of your hand."
