    Renesmee's Jacob

We swung our arms as we walked towards the main house, the one where Esme, Carlisle, Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, and Jasper still lived. They'd left, of course, at one point. They'd "grown up" and left for college. But now they still lived here, portraying married couples. They'd have to leave again soon, but I didn't think about that. I could only enjoy what was happening now.

When we got to the doorway, I walked in first, pulling Jacob in with me. He stepped reluctantly into the house. I'm sure it brought back many memories for him, not all of them happy. But I brushed that thought from my mind so he wouldn't hear it.

"Hey, guys." I greeted my vampire family. "I brought Jacob."

My mother, who was nestled under my father's arm, beamed. She hadn't liked the fact that Jacob had found such, well, interest in me ever since my birth at first, but now she realized how happy he made me and grinned whenever she saw him. My father was another story, however. He attempted to make his expression somehow friendly and inviting but did not succeed. He'd had some sort of resentment towards Jacob even back in the old days, when he still loved my mother.

Everyone else (besides Rosalie – she always despised Jacob, for some reason I still don't know) smiled kindly at Jacob and went back to what they were doing. My uncles Emmett and Jasper were watching a football game, with Rosalie rolling her eyes at Emmett's side. Alice was lying down, her head in Jasper's lap, sketching something. A vision? I couldn't see.

I pulled Jacob to the couch where my mother was tapping it. I sat down and Jacob followed, looking very uncomfortable. He usually liked some sort of comfort, like Seth or another friend from the pack, to be around. But ever since Seth had imprinted, he didn't come around much. I'd met the girl – she seemed nice enough, and certainly very nice-looking – and given my approval, as did Jacob (it was very important for the pack to approve of the new imprintee – even the pack members' imprintees had their say), but I could tell now he was regretting it. He missed Seth, and so did I.
