Chapter Forty

Ashley smiled over at Spencer as they headed home after their long day. She couldn’t help but feel like a great weight had been lifted off of her shoulders after her meeting with Aiden. She still hated him for what a dick he had been back in High School but she could see a much more mature version of the friend she used to know. Stephanie was the cutest child she had ever seen and definitely had her mother’s energetic personality. ‘Madison…’ Just the thought of the Latina brought back so many memories albeit good and bad.

Spencer caught the sad expression that had just crossed her fiancée’s face and squeezed the brunette’s hand. Ashley smiled in response and brought her hand to her lips placing a gentle kiss on top.

They made their way through the streets of L.A. and pulled up to the street that led to their home. Spencer noticed a huge moving truck parked along the sidewalk right outside of the mini-mansion. She looked over at Ashley who shrugged and smiled.

“I had them pack and move your things…I hope you don’t mind. I just didn’t want you to be burdened with any of it.”

“No it’s fine. I guess we can go by my old place later just to make sure they didn’t accidentally take any of Marco’s things. He would have a fit if they touched his stuff.” She said smiling at Ashley.

“I just told them to look for things that just screamed ‘Lesbian’…ow…” Ashley said giving a pout to the blonde.

“So do your things scream ‘Lesbian’?”

“No but I do have a few things that can sure scream.” Ashley said parking and winking at the blonde before jumping out of the car.

Spencer shook her head and followed the brunette into the house. She noticed all the boxes that were lying around that were mixed with some of Ashley’s own unpacked boxes. It looked like a sea of cardboard and Spencer couldn’t help but laugh when Ashley pretended to part the sea with her arms but nothing moved. The brunette grunted slightly then climbed her way over to reach the stairs.

The movers had started to close up the truck signaling that they were finished unpacking. One of the workers knocked softly on the open door and Spencer motioned to him to wait just a few minutes. He nodded and took out his clipboard scribbling a few more things down while he waited.
