    Waking up to reality.

     

    “I mean, I don’t have to stay here. I’ll get a hotel room. But it’ll at least give us some time to hang out.”

     

    “No, I’m sorry, it’s great. Honestly, that’s fantastic.” Another silence fell upon us, “So who’s the recording artist?”

     

    “Oh, Kelly Clarkson.” I said it like it was no big deal.

     

    Spencer’s mouth dropped open, “Kelly Clarkson?! The Kelly Clarkson?”

     

    I couldn’t help but notice how excited she was, “Yeah. Umm…would you like to come to the studio with me? It’ll only be a few days. But you could see how it all happens.”

     

    “And I could meet Kelly freakin Clarkson!!”

     

    “Yes, and that too.” I laughed harder, “So?”

     

    “I would love to.” Gabriel started crying, “Aww…come on, let’s go for a walk Gabe.”

     

    Spencer stood up from the couch, holding Gabriel on her hip. She grabbed a light jacket for herself and put a small jacket on Gabe. I stood up as she walked to the door, “Do you mind if I come?”

     

    Spencer locked eyes with me, “Come on. We’ll go to the park. You like the park don’t you Gabe.” She tickled the toddler’s belly and he laughed.

     

    We stayed at the park for a good hour. We played with Gabriel. Spencer held him as she would swing and I would take him down the slide a few times. What amazed me the most was that it was the most fun I’d had in years. Seeing that side of Spencer made me love her more than ever before.

     

    When we got back to the house Glen showed up to pick Gabriel up, “Thanks for babysitting sis. Andrea and I can’t thank you enough for helping us out.”

     

    Spencer gave Glen her infamous smart-ass grin, “I think paying me fifty dollars a day is enough of a thank you.”

     

    “Very true. Well, I’d better get going. Andrea’s at home fixing dinner. We wouldn’t wanna be late, would we big guy?” Glen gave Spencer a loving kiss on the cheek, “Bye, Spence.” Surprising to me he even told me good bye, “See you tomorrow Ash.”

     

    I looked up from Spencer’s laptop, “Yeah, see ya Glen.”

    9. Oh my God. this is such a beautiful chapter. Its so sweet and sad. I want them to have a child together. Spencer needs to leave her girlfriend now. I wonder about their on and off relationship, though. Did Spencer cheat or have she always kept her distance with current gf. Is her gf a bitch? Please make her a bitch so it’ll be eas hate her. Poor Ash has t see them as a couple at memorial. I hope spencer isn’t all over her. Does Spencer gf know about Ash? PMS
