    “I know.”

     

    “I’m so lucky to have you.”

     

    She gently kissed me. This kiss wasn’t passionate, it wasn’t heated. It was as soft and sensual as it could possibly be, “No, I’m lucky to have you.”

     

    I finally let my seriousness fall away to a light smile, “So how’d you like the album?”

     

    “I love it. Honestly. I think I’ve listened to it over fifteen times already. I love that song ‘When You Find The One’.”

     

    “It’s about you. Actually all of them are about you except ‘Confessions of a Broken Heart’. That one’s about my dad.”

     

    “I kinda figured. But I loved it. It was amazing.”

     

    “Thank you.”

     

    We sat there staring at one another for what seemed like an eternity until Spencer jumped with anticipation again, “Oh! The other part of your present!”

     

    “Spence, you really didn’t have to get me two gifts.”

     

    She walked to the bathroom and came back. She sat down on the bed and then handed me a stick-like object. I finally looked down and realized what it was. It was a pregnancy test. I looked down at the results but my brain couldn’t comprehend at first. Then I realized that it was positive, “Spence! You’re PREGNANT!”

     

    Spencer’s smile was so wide that it needed a “wide load” sign posted on it, “Uh huh. And don’t worry. That’s not the only one. After that one showed positive I took three others. All had the same outcome.”

     

    “We’re having a BABY?!” I was in complete shock. I wanted this moment more than ever.

     

    “Yes, Ash. We’re going to have a baby!”

     

    I squealed with excitement and kissed her. I knew that everything would work it’s self out for the better. But really hearing it from someone other than me just seemed surreal. We were going to have a family. We were going to be mothers. This moment in my life seemed like it should be the best. But I didn’t really know if it could be counted as the best. I’ve had so many great things happen to me in such a short amount of time that it was hard to weigh the odds.

     

    Ten years ago my life had fallen apart. Now I had found all the pieces and glued them back together. One good year had finally come and I can only pray for more to come. Especially since I am going to be a mommy. I can’t wait to see Spencer pregnant. I can’t wait to see her get fat, no matter how bad that sounds, it’s a beautiful thing. I can’t wait to see our baby grow up and become the man or woman that he or she is meant to be.

     

    I can’t wait to grow old with Spencer and continue to count the years, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays with her and our baby. I can’t wait to tour the country with my album and know that I am no different from any one in my audience. And I can’t wait to come home after a long day of recording, touring, whatever it might be, and hug and kiss my wife and hold my child. This was the life that I had only dreamt of. But they claim that if you can dream it, you can make it happen. This time I guess I finally found that out.

     

    They say that everyday is a gift. I can truly believe that now. Nothing lasts forever. So laugh a lot, forgive quickly, love with your whole heart, and remember the great things you have encountered in your life. I know that I will. And I know that Spencer will do the same because she always has.

     

    It’s been ten long years and all I can see is her face, all I can smell is her scent, and all I can taste is her kiss. She is my savior. She’s my other half. I can’t help but know that she and I were meant to be together. We were made for one another. And I thank whatever god is out there for putting Spencer Carlin in my life.

    3. awwwwwww!!!!! ok, that would be the third time i’ve cried over a fic today. and you know that it’s a true testimate to how good an author is when they make their readers cry. because that means they convey images, through their words, and draw the readers in. this is why reading is better than movies. because you arent actually seeing these things right in front of you…you’re forced to picture them, and when the author puts such images into your brain, even the sounds, its almost like you’re living it. you’re so awesome! i can only hope to be as good of an author as you. kudos. bahahaha. kudos…i love that word.

If I do it, it’ll be set a little farther in the future and I probably wont be posting it until mid summer or so. Like I said…I loved writing this fic. It’s my best work.
