    Author Notes:

    I just shut my eyes, take a deep breath and begin to tell her my story.

    “No it isn’t.” She says firmly as she kisses my forehead

    I just smile a little lay my head back on her chest.

    “Ash?” She asks

    “Yeah?”

    “Does your sister know about what’s going on?”

    “I think so but we don’t talk about it. I mean she’s tried to bring it up but I refuse to talk about it. So for the most part she keeps her feelings to herself because she doesn’t want to alienate me. She hates Aiden with a passion and the feeling is very mutual. They can’t stand to be in the same room. He‘s actually tried to forbid me from seeing her saying she’s a bad influence but that‘s one thing I won‘t give into. I need her. She makes me happy.” I say

    “Hmmm.” She says

    “Hmm…what?” I ask curious

    “I think I would love to meet your sister.” She says quietly

    “Really? Why?”

    “Because I think we would get along great. We already have something in common. Our mutual hatred for the bastard. I also want to make sure there is somebody to take care of you when I have to go back to work.” She says firmly

    “When do you have to go back?” I ask sad that I’m not going to be able sleep with her much longer

    “Day after tomorrow. So you should probably call her and tell her to come by tomorrow. I need to give her instructions on how to take care of you and what to look out for.”

    “Spencer, that really isn’t necessary. This isn’t the first time. I know how to take care of it.”

    “This is not negotiable Ashley. It’s either your sister or I take off from work to take care of you. Maybe, I’ll do just that. I do have a lot of time off saved up.” She muses

    “No, no. Don’t do that.” I shriek. I can’t believe she’d be willing to rearrange her life just for me.

    “You’ll call your sister, then?” She asks firmly

    I know when I’m on the losing end of an argument. So I say, “I’ll call her tomorrow.”

    “Good.”

    I feel the pills starting to work because I’m getting really sleepy. But before I drift off I want to know one thing. “Spencer?”

    “Yeah, baby?”

    I brace myself for what I think is the inevitable. She’s probably going to make me leave after she answers me. “Do you still want to have me around? Even after everything I’ve told you.”

    “Yes, yes I do. I’m lucky to have found you.” She says softly

    I grin and mutter softly, “I’m getting sleepy.”

    “Go to sleep, baby. I’ll be here when you wake up.” She whispers as I feel her kiss my head

    I fall asleep content because she’s the one holding me. Deep down I know nothing can hurt me if she’s holding me and more importantly I know she’ll be there when I wake up.
